Today, we remember Alan Turing, who died on 7 June 1954.

A mathematician, codebreaker and pioneer of modern computing, Turing's work helped shorten the Second World War and laid the foundations for technologies that shape our lives today.

For decades, his achievements went largely unrecognised, and he faced profound personal challenges because of who he was. Yet his contribution to science, innovation and society remains extraordinary.

On the anniversary of his death, we honour a man whose ideas changed the world and whose legacy continues to inspire generations of thinkers, problem-solvers and innovators.

This weekend, Wallasey RBL will be having a members only weekend.

We want to thank the members who've helped and supported us throughout the last few years. We will be trying to raise money through donations. The overall of the building hasn't been cheap. We've virtually exhausted all of Withens Lane's sale money and most of the branch funds to do what we've done.

So as I say, midday to 11pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will be having a private members function and requesting people to dig deep.

Free tea and coffee, darts and 60p pool.

Also, we've been donated about 2000 books from a recently deceased RAF Vet. We plan to keep some, sell some and donate some. We will have these available to people to view. Books will be available from £1. Mostly military and some transport books too.

Come support your new RBL Vets Hub. We have already had a few Vets this week come in for help. We can't do it without your generous donations.

Opening this Saturday 25th April

Coming to officially open the The Royal British Legion, Wallasey Branch. on Saturday is Wirral Council Mayor Cllr Brian Kenny, local Councillors Ian Lewis and Max Booth are also coming. Representatives from Local Cadet Forces will be also be present.

Cheshire Rbl Chairman/President/Standard Bearer will also be in attendance.

Free nibbles and tea and coffee will be served.

Stay later for a drink and a game of pool or darts.

Thank you to everyone who has helped. Including Jason Cooper and his team of Builders, including Andy Green.
