Since the elections in May, we have spoken to nearly 400 residents in our area - particularly in Percy Main, South Meadow Well, Royal Quays and East Howdon - to get their opinions on what the money should be spent on before our first board meeting in August 👍 we’re thrilled as well that the council have now officially accepted the funding so we’ll be getting cracking very soon on delivering.

This is us back out in East Howdon and Percy Main on a sunny then very windy (hence the hair!) day last week speaking to you about your priorities for our area.

Out again in East Howdon this week speaking to residents about the area and getting issues sorted for you 👍

Great to see the new Labour government already taking action on the cost of living.

We know how much of a difference making life easier to afford for people in Chirton & Percy Main will make and we’re glad that reducing the cost of living will be at the centre of what this government does 🌹

As your community champions, we said we would get Home Group out around Hackworth Way, Wylam Road, Stockton Road and Hedley Road to raise concerns with them about people’s housing and public spaces being overgrown with trees and shrubs which we did today 👍

Thanks to everyone who responded to our letter letting residents know when we would be around and spoke to us today - we’ll be following up on lots of things with Home Group and the council.

Great day today meeting with the Pride in Place board for the first time to discuss how you, the residents, want to spend the money.

We’ve been out for the past couple of months along with North Tyneside Council listening to the community and will continue to do so - it was great as well to have been out again in East Howden this week meeting Sarah and Bev from the board along with Alan Campbell for Tynemouth and Dame Norma Redfearn about what residents have been saying.

We were out in Meadow Well on Monday along with Northumbria Police, The Meadows Community Centre, Cedarwood Trust, Phoenix detached youth project and North Tyneside Council as part of our new partnership on the estate.

Whilst we have had good news in the reduction of reported ASB in the area and people are rightly incredibly proud to come from Meadow Well, we know that this is absolutely the start of the work we need to do. We have already managed to achieve a lot in a short space of time from:

👮meeting with the police on a monthly basis to report issues we have received from residents and get updates about ongoing issues

🏡working with our housing team to get repairs done and work to resolve issues around anti-social behaviour

🧹reporting graffiti, flytipping and littering to get it cleaned up and showing pride in our area

☎️ holding surgeries in our fab community centres and working with them to provide support for residents

We’ll be out in the area over the summer speaking to you as well about what you think about the area and will keep residents informed when another community day is organised!

Thank you to Look North for coming down to cover what resident have to say about you can watch the report here from 8 minutes in:

🚨 Delivering For You 🚨

As well as being out in Meadow Well today as part of our Community Day of Action, we’ve already been out reporting graffiti and getting it removed like this at the bottom of Wantage Avenue.

We will always report graffiti that we see in order to get it removed and if you want to report any then just email us on [email protected] with your address, a photo of the graffiti and a location so we get get it sorted for you👍

We’ll absolutely be there on Monday as we’ve been working with Northumbria Police, Cedarwood Trust, The Meadows Community Centre and North Tyneside Council as your community champions to tackle anti-social and criminal behaviour in Meadow Well.

We know there is still work to be done and we’ll absolutely continue this work for the incredible people on the Meadow Well estate - this is just one part of that and we hope to see loads of residents there!

Join us next week on Monday 13th July at Cedarwood for COMMUNITY DAY OF ACTION. ✊🏻

We're hosting a meeting at 11:00am with North Tyneside Council, Northumbria Police and The Meadows Community Centre, where residents (YOU) can get updates on what's been happening on the estate and have their say about what is needed to tackle issues of concern for the community.

We'll then be helping with a street clean up at 12:30pm with The Meadows.
