Circus Explorers - Half Term Family Fun
As part of Staffordshire History Festival, Staffordshire Libraries are celebrating the county's connection to Philip Astley, who was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme and is recognised as the Father of the Modern Circus.
Inspired by Staffordshire's circus heritage, families are invited to join award-winning contemporary circus company Upswing for ‘Circus Explorers’, a fun and interactive experience for children aged 4-8 and their grown-ups.
Enjoy a short circus performance before taking part in a guided Stay and Play session where families can explore movement and circus skills together. Through balancing, catching, climbing and creative play, children and adults will discover what bravery means in everyday life.
Supporting the National Year of Reading, Circus Explorers uses storytelling, imagination and play to build confidence, creativity and communication skills while bringing families together in their local library.
