I’m going to toot my own horn for a moment because there was a huge amount of work behind these achievements! From completing the lengthy—and sometimes rather tedious—submission sections and reports, to gathering supporting evidence and writing or updating countless company policies and procedures, it has certainly kept me busy.

It makes all those hours worthwhile to see everything approved and the certificates finally received.

Monthly fire safety checks are a simple but vital part of keeping your workplace safe, compliant, and prepared in the event of an emergency.

Make sure you’re routinely checking:

✅ Fire extinguishers are in place and accessible
✅ Fire alarms are operational
✅ Emergency lighting is working correctly
✅ Escape routes are clear and unobstructed
✅ Fire doors are closing properly
✅ Safety signage is visible and in good condition

Regular checks help protect your staff, visitors, premises, and business continuity.

📢 Weekly Fire Safety Reminder! 🔥
Don't skip your weekly fire alarm check. It's quick, easy, and vital for safety!
1. Notify: Place your system on test with the Alarm Receiving Centre if your system signal is monitored.
2. Test: Each week, activate a different fire call point (like the one pictured) and confirm the signal reaches the control panel.
3. Reset: Once tested, reset your alarm system.
4. Record: Log the test immediately, including which call point was activated.
🚨 Trouble? If you encounter any problems, call your fire alarm maintenance company right away!

Fire doors are there to protect lives and slow the spread of fire and smoke — but only if they’re used correctly.

A quick reminder to:

✅ Keep fire doors shut
❌ Never wedge fire doors open
🔍 Regularly check gaps, seals & door closers

Even something as simple as propping a fire door open can compromise your building’s fire protection and put people at risk.

Routine inspections and maintenance are essential to ensure your fire doors remain compliant and effective.
