Introducing the Marie Cooper Award
At Chuckery Primary School, we are proud to celebrate children who consistently demonstrate our PROUD values throughout their time with us:

To recognise these qualities, we award selected pupils with the Marie Cooper Award.
Marie Cooper was a much-loved member of our local community who kindly left a generous gift to the school in her will. Thanks to her incredible generosity, generations of Chuckery children have been able to enjoy a wide range of educational visits and outdoor learning experiences through our dedicated Outdoor Education Lead and our own Chuckery minibus. Her contribution has helped ensure that all children can access opportunities that enrich their learning, broaden their horizons, and create lifelong memories.
The Marie Cooper Award is our way of saying thank you and ensuring that Marie's legacy continues to inspire future generations. It is awarded to pupils who embody our PROUD values every day and who make a positive contribution to our school community throughout their journey at Chuckery.
We hope that this award not only celebrates our children's achievements but also reminds them of the lasting difference one person's kindness can make to the lives of others.

We are delighted to share that, thanks to your contributions, we raised an amazing amount of money for the school. Your support helped make the day a wonderful success.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful parent volunteers. Your willingness to volunteer helped create a fantastic day for our children, families, and wider school community. We are incredibly grateful for your support, kindness, and commitment to our school.
The funds raised will help us provide additional opportunities and resources that benefit all of our children, and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness and community spirit.

Dear Parents and Carers, As you are likely aware, the weather forecast for the upcoming week predicts exceptionally high temperatures. We want to reassure you that the safety, comfort, and well-being of our children are our top priorities. To ensure our pupils stay safe and cool while continuing their learning, we are implementing several extreme hot weather measures starting tomorrow, Please read through the details below to see how we are adapting the school day and how you can help prepare your child. ☀️ School Adjustments & Safety Measures * **Relaxed Uniform:** Children should come to school in light, loose-fitting uniform items (e.g., shorts and a short-sleeved polo shirt). PE kits are also acceptable if they are lighter. Modified Breaktimes: We will monitor the temperatures closely. During the hottest parts of the day, children will be kept indoors or restricted to shaded areas of the playground. High-energy sports and activities during PE and breaktimes will be paused. Hydration: Teachers will provide regular drinks breaks throughout the day. Water refilling stations are fully operational, and we will encourage children to drink frequently. Cooler Classrooms: We will keep blinds closed, utilise fans, and cross-ventilate rooms early in the morning to keep the learning environments as comfortable as possible. 🎒 How You Can Help Prepare Your Child To help us keep your child safe, please ensure they come to school prepared with the following items each day: Sunscreen: Please apply a high-factor (SPF 30 or higher), long-lasting sunscreen to your child before they come to school. You may also send a named bottle of sunscreen in their bag for them to reapply themselves; please note that staff are not permitted to apply sunscreen to pupils. Water Bottle: A large, reusable water bottle, clearly labeled with your child's name. We recommend filling it with cold water (and ice cubes if possible) in the morning. Sun Hat: A wide-brimmed hat or baseball cap to protect their face and neck during essential outdoor transitions. > A Note on Attendance: School remains open, and we expect all children to attend unless they are genuinely unwell. If your child has an underlying medical condition that makes them particularly vulnerable to heat (such as severe asthma or cardiovascular conditions), please contact the school office or their class teacher so we can review their individual care plan.
