🇬🇧🤝🇫🇷 New Display Now on Show!🇫🇷🤝🇬🇧

This past Saturday, we launched a new display celebrating the long-standing relationship between Ongar and Cerizay, France.

The display explores the history of the Ongar and District Twinning Association and highlights decades of international friendship and cultural exchange, and features photographs, memorabilia and stories from past visits and events.

If you're visiting the museum, be sure to take a look and discover how local people have built lasting connections across borders over the years.

And if you are interested in becoming a member of the wonderful Ongar and District Twinning Association, contact Chair Bob Gammon on 07941 790326.

🪙 Help Us Keep Local Roman History in Our Museum 🪙

We're just £700 away from securing an important local archaeological find for Epping Forest District Museum.

The find consists of 24 coins discovered in the Nazeing area, dating from the Iron Age through to the Roman period. The earliest is a silver Iron Age unit, while the latest is a radiate coin of Postumus dating to AD 260-269. Together, they provide valuable evidence of the changing currencies used over several centuries and offer a fascinating insight into the people who lived in our area nearly 2,000 years ago.

We would love to keep these remarkable objects within the district's collection, where they can be preserved, studied and enjoyed by future generations.

With just £595 left to raise, we're asking for your support to help secure these fascinating coins for the museum and our community. If you would like to support this important acquisition, donations can be made via our CAF Donate page:

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to securing these coins for the people of Epping Forest District.
