Warminster Town Park

Warminster Town Park Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds is set in beautiful surroundings a short walk from the town centre.

If you are looking for a lovely day out with the family come and explore this beautiful green space in Warminster with amenities including a cafe, beautiful lakeside walks, nature reserve, tree trail, tennis courts, play areas, putting green, skatepark, splash pad and toilets. Parking is close by on Weymouth Street either in the pay and display car park or the limited free parking along the road.

The Pavilion Cafe serves snacks, drinks and ice creams daily from 9.00am - 5.00pm during the summer and from 9.30 - 3.30, Thursday to Sunday from the 1st October. Enjoy a walk around the beautiful lake following the tree trail and feed the ducks (feed available from the cafe). If you'd like to venture a little further continue on through Smallbrook Meadows Nature Reserve. Boat hire is available until 31st August 2022, and will re-open next summer. The tennis courts are free of charge, racquets and balls are available for hire at the Pavilion Cafe. Have fun in the skatepark and play areas with slide, swings, lava tail and toddlers area. The popular Lake Pleasure Grounds (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP) will will remain busy this weekend.

The splash pad remains open 7 days a week to help keep families cool. The town council is reminding visitors to follow safety rules stated on the signage - all children must wear costumes and infants must wear a swim nappy.

Pets, scooters, bicycles and anything that might damage the safety surface are not allowed and food and drink must not be consumed on the splash pad.

The splash pad is open daily for the 2026 season, 10am to 6pm โ€“ joining other free activities available in the park including the large play park, lava trail and skate park.

Additional paid for activities include tennis, pickleball and the putting green. ๐๐จ๐š๐ญ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฅ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐œ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ž๐ž๐ค๐ž๐ง๐ due to low water levels following the hot weather.

Another free to attend Park Yoga Warminster will be held on Sunday 30th May, from 9.30am to 10.30am โ€“ with residents and visitors invited to stretch, strengthen and unwind on the putting green with no booking required.

The Pavilion Parlour will be open thoughout the weekend, selling ice cream, drinks, snacks as well as splash pad accessories.

People are asked to park considerately if visiting the Lake Pleasure Grounds via car by using nearby car parks and not double parking on Weymouth Street.

Boats and canoes remain unavailable to hire in the Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds after consistent hot weather has led to low water levels in the lake.

A further update will be provided when the boats reopen on the lake.

Country Comes to Town 2026, a free family event comes to the Lake Pleasure Grounds on Saturday, 10am to 4pm.

A spokesperson said: "Discover the depths of our waterways with our water tank, get creative with our education and wellbeing teams and discover Smallbrook Meadows with guided reserve walks. Plus our famous smoothie bike, hook-a-duck, plant sale and member zone!"

Free Park Yoga Warminster returns on Sunday, from 9.30am to 10.30am with residents and visitors invited to stretch, strengthen and unwind.

The Lake Pleasure Grounds will host Country Comes to Town 2026, a free family event on Saturday 16th May, 10am to 4pm.

A spokesperson said: "Join us in Warminster for Country Comes to Town 2026, with something for every generation to discover the wonders of Wiltshire's wildlife.

"Children can get stuck into nature-based crafts and try their luck at the classic hook-a-duck, while the more energetic can hop onto the famous smoothie bike to pedal- their way to a fresh, fruity treat.

"For those who want to explore the beauty of the reserve, our expert team will be leading guided walks throughout the day, showcasing the incredible biodiversity of our local chalk streams and wetlands.

Popular Warminster tennis coach Stephen Marcelle is continuing to serve up tennis lessons for all ages in the Lake Pleasure Grounds (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP).

Junior tennis coaching continues to prove popular with sessions available weekly, each Tuesday with different times for different ages โ€“ and there is still time to join.

The Junior Tennis Coaching programme is sponsored by Warminster Town Council and Sport England:

3.30pm to 4pm: LTA Youth Tots Tennis (age 4 to 5 years old) โ€“ ยฃ9 โ€“ 9 sessions included

Stephen, who has over 30 years of experience โ€“ will also add offer Adult Cardio Tennis starting Tuesday 12th May, 10am to 11am, costing ยฃ20 per person (two sessions included), as well as delivering lessons alongside adult 1-2-1 coaching in the town for ยฃ45 per hour.

1.2.1 private coaching will also be available on Tuesday mornings, Thursdays 9am to 5pm and Sundays 9am to 2pm.

The tennis courts in Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds can be used all year round and continue to prove very popular since receiving significant investment in 2023.

In total there are five tennis courts and a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) for public play.

The MUGA is free to use all the time, and the tennis courts are ยฃ6 per one hour session or ยฃ40 for a yearโ€™s membership, which allows up to 4 hours a week playtime. For more details visit: www.lta.org.uk/play

Free to attend Park Yoga sessions have officially arrived in Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP) with residents and visitors invited to stretch, strengthen and unwind each Sunday from May to September, 9.30am to 10.30am.

Cathi Farrer-Mitchell, Director of Park Yoga explained: โ€œAs a charity we want Park Yoga to be as accessible as possible, thereโ€™s no need to book and itโ€™s free to attend.

โ€œLast year 31% of our participants had never done yoga before, so you wonโ€™t be alone if youโ€™re new to yoga. You donโ€™t need any specific equipment, just a yoga mat if you have one, but if not a blanket or towel works perfectly. Come along and give it a go, you wonโ€™t regret it!โ€

Yoga classes will still go ahead in light rain, should the weather be particularly wet, participants will be informed of a class cancellation with at least an hour's notice via the Park Yoga Warminster page and the Park Yoga website.

We're sorry to announce that our Warminster Memory Walk on 9th May has been postponed.

Due to low uptake impacted by the weather, along with safety concerns around steep terrain and forecasted wet conditions, we feel this is the most responsible course of action.

The safety and experience of our participants will always be our first priority.

All registered walkers will be contacted to transfer their place to our Wilton Walk on Saturday 19th September.
