🎃 FESTOWEEN… but as the sun starts to go down 👻✨

We’re adding one extra special late afternoon Festoween session to our Halloween line-up — and this one is open to a bigger age range! 🧡

🌙 Friday 30th October | 3.30–5pm
👻 For children aged 8 & under

Come and experience The Secret Garden as the afternoon turns dusky and our little garden starts to feel just that bit more magical… ✨

Expect all the Festoween fun — Halloween play set-ups, spooky role play, potions, sensory play, dressing up, photo opportunities and plenty of Halloween magic — but with that gorgeous late-afternoon Halloween atmosphere as the light begins to fade. 🎃🕯️

And because this session welcomes children right up to age 8, it’s perfect for families with older siblings who might usually be too old for our regular play sessions. They can come along, get stuck into the play and enjoy Festoween together. 🖤

Costumes are VERY welcome. 🧙‍♀️👻🦇

🎃 CRAFT IN THE GARDEN IS BACK… with a spooky twist! 👻✨

After such a lovely response to our first Craft in the Garden, we couldn’t resist bringing it back for Festoween — this time with four gorgeous Halloween-inspired makes! 🧡💜

On Monday 26th October, little makers can get stuck into:

🔑 Keyring making — chunky beads, colourful rope, names + spooky charms
🎃 Spooky fairy gardens — create a miniature Halloween world complete with pumpkin house, ghosts, flowers, pebbles + plenty of tiny details
👻 Pebble painting — design your own little collection of Halloween characters
🦇 Photo frame decorating — cover your frame in spooky-cute resin shapes, flowers, pumpkins, ghosts + more

And, of course, everything they make comes home with them! 🥰

Younger children are very welcome if you feel the activities are appropriate for them. Grown-up supervision is required throughout.

A very wholesome day in the garden today! We ran our first craft session aimed at slightly older group and it was so much fun.

We tried something completely new today - always a bit of a risk and it was so wonderful. I’m always really nervous when doing these “events” or “specials” hoping it all goes to plan and that everyone has a good time so it came with great relief and pride that today just felt so lush and everything I had hoped it would be.

Our very first Craft in the Garden was honestly such a vibe!

There were little hands carefully creating resin animal gardens, designing the coolest sunglasses, painting pebbles, accessorising notebooks, making flower crowns and choosing all those tiny details that made their creations completely their own. Lush to see families together, special moments between a mum and her eldest or a grandma on her day and the chance for big bro or sis to come along for once. Even two lovely little people who I taught in reception (we won’t talk about how they are catching me up in height already!!)

And seeing them wandering around afterwards in their flower crowns and fancy sunnies, proudly carrying everything they’d made making sure it didn’t fall was just lovely. Thanks for all the messages too.

Whenever we try something new at The Secret Garden, there is always that tiny bit of Will people actually like this?!

Well I really think today answered that.

So now you’ve got me thinking… what could Craft in the Garden become next?

We had some amazing visitors in the garden today!

Today we welcomed the brilliant for an unforgettable animal encounter — and safe to say we were ALL completely captivated! 😍

We got to meet Flower the skunk, a whole bunch of ridiculously cute sugar gliders, two tortoises, a blue-tongued skink, a gentle giant tegu and the sweetest little hedgehog.

And of course… Flower decided she fancied a little adventure of her own! 😂 During lunchtime she made a cheeky escape into the hedge, giving us all a little bit of excitement — but thankfully she was found safe and sound and back with Jodie. 🥰

Thank you for a truly magical day.
