There are two chances tomorrow for you to find out more about what's next for Golborne's new railway station.

A drop-in session takes place at Golborne Library during the day, and another in the evening at Golborne Sports and Social Club.

Both are a chance to see the latest plans, talk to the people behind the project, and ask questions about anything from parking and transport links to how the works themselves might affect the town.

Read more about all the upcoming sessions from the link in the comments ⬇️

Great to spend some time today with the lads from the Red Lion Bowling Team.

Hopefully we can help them secure some funding through the Brighter Borough Fund to improve the bowling green and fencing, helping to protect and secure the future of this fantastic local club.

The Red Lion Bowling Club is now the only bowling club remaining in Lowton, and they’re always looking to welcome new members. Whether you’re young or old, experienced or a complete beginner, ladies and gents are all welcome.

If you’ve never given crown green bowling a go, I’d genuinely recommend it. It’s a great way to get outdoors, meet new people and enjoy a bit of friendly competition. Get yourself down – it’s a cracking club and, to be fair, I really enjoyed it!

It was a pleasure to visit the Warrington Model Flying Club, located just off Winwick Lane.

Established in 1936, the club has an incredible history. I was struck by the range of members, with the oldest being 90 years old and the youngest just 11. It really shows how this fantastic hobby brings generations together.

Sadly, the club’s future is under threat because of the proposed Tritax development. Due to the strict safety and airspace requirements needed to fly model aircraft, relocating simply isn’t a realistic option.

Clubs like this offer far more than just a hobby. They provide friendship, a sense of community, and an escape from the pressures of everyday life for so many people. They are exactly the kind of organisations that deserve our support and protection.

A big thank you for the invitation and the warm hospitality. It was great to meet everyone, and I wish the club every success in securing its future.
