REMINDER | We are starting a programme of work to inform the development of our next Community Risk Management Plan, which will cover 2028-2032. To start this work, we are running a survey for you to tell us what you expect from your fire and rescue service, where you think we should prioritise our resources and what you think the most important risks are for us to consider.

𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝!

🌹 Here's a quick update on what I’ve been up to over the last seven days:

🛠️ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲:
𝐎𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐞: I've escalated this issue (near the car wash) The contractor is being recalled to fix it problem at their own expense.
𝐎𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤: Great news! After reporting the poor condition of a large section of the park path, I've heard that repairs will be starting very soon.
𝐅𝐥𝐲-𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠: Followed up on previously reported fly-tipping sites to ensure they were cleared (pleased to report they are!).
𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬' 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Sent in formal concerns regarding builders using our back streets as an active builder’s yard.

🏡𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤
𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Engaged directly with council officers to support several residents with ongoing housing issues.
𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: Met with local residents to discuss concerns regarding a new housing development.
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 & 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Attended Monday’s Cabinet meeting as an observer and participated in the Housing Policy Committee, where I sit as a member.

🌱 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐝
𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐬: I spent time working alongside the wonderful MacIntyre Gardening Gang to maintain the Town Hall garden borders (plus a few extra evening visits to keep the boarders watered!).
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬: I covered a lot of ground again this week, visiting Amelia, Rhodes, West, and Cyril Streets; Gough, Poole, McKee, and Sinclair Avenues; Burns Grove, Sandy Lane, and Shakespeare Grove.
𝐀 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭: The highlight of my week was spotting two hopscotch grids drawn in coloured chalk by children on Alder Lane and Burns Grove. It truly took me back to my own childhood!

The Garden Gang in Warrington have been busy! They were asked by the Friends of Warrington Town Hall to transform the planting of the beds outside the Town Hall. After some hard work clearing, tidying, sowing, it's all coming together for the local community.

🌳 Quick update on Orford Park! 🌳
Several weeks ago I was contacted by several users of Orford park who were concerned about a section of the path in a poor state.
I Just wanted to let you all know that after reporting this in the paperwork is now sorted and the council are just working out the best dates with the contractor to get the team on site to carry out the repairs. As soon as I have those dates I’ll post them right here so you'll know exactly when this is happening.

After this work was completed I raised concerns that the repair in the road seamed to be sinking on the same day it was fixed, I reported this in to highways who tell me 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞-𝐟𝐢𝐱 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭."
So at some point soon there will be some disruption with road works but the job will be fixed,

Please be aware that emergency roadworks are starting now (Mon 20th July 2026). This is on Orford lane next to the carwash / Wakefield bros. The work is to investigate a collapsed drainage system and should be complete within two days. Two way traffic signals and diversions in place, Delays likely! Please avoid this area if traveling by road.
