Speaking with the fire crews who have had a say in the new design they are looking forward to a modern station which also keeps some of the stations heritage.

🚫🗑️ Resident Convicted for Failing to Assist Fly-Tipping Investigation 🗑️🚫

A Warrington resident has been convicted after failing to comply with a lawful requirement to assist Warrington Borough Council officers investigating a fly-tipping incident.

🔎 Waste dumped in an alleyway on Cartwright Street was traced back to a Warrington address. Despite repeated attempts by officers to make contact, Dawn McDonnell failed to engage with the investigation and did not attend a formally requested interview.

⚖️ At Warrington Magistrates' Court, McDonnell pleaded guilty to an offence under the Environment Act 1995 for failing to comply with a requirement imposed by an authorised officer.

💪 This case sends a clear message: residents cannot ignore lawful requests made during environmental crime investigations. Where individuals fail to cooperate, Warrington Borough Council will take action.

♻️ Fly-tipping continues to blight our communities, and our Environmental Crime Team remains committed to investigating offences, gathering evidence and holding people accountable.

YOUR WEEKLY ORFORD WARD ACTION UPDATE! 🏛️🌳

It has been another busy 7 days working hard across Orford, handling everything from road safety and green spaces to protecting our vital community facilities.

Here is a look at what I've achieved for our neighbourhood this week:👉

Sorting Our Streets & Environment
Footpaths & Roadworks: Chased up council officers for urgent updates on unfinished works and pushed for answers on prolonged, disruptive roadworks affecting our local routes.

Fly-Tipping & Overgrown Greenery: Escalated resident complaints regarding abandoned bins, blocked drains, and overgrown vegetation to the appropriate council teams. I have also investigated land ownership concerns alongside Charlotte Nichols MP.

Enforcement Issues:
Investigated complaints regarding a local business and looped in both enforcement and the police to take action.

Planning & HMOs: Continued working alongside planning enforcement officers to tackle an alleged unauthorized HMO development and planning breaches across the ward.

Keeping Our Schools & Roads safe
School Parking: Partnered with Cheshire Police and parking enforcement teams to clamp down on dangerous parking and traffic issues outside a local primary school to keep pupils safe.

Fighting for Community Services
Orford Hub: Actively monitored ongoing local leisure center disruptions, working closely with livewire management, officers, and MP caseworkers.

Behind the scenes, I've also been busy preparing for the upcoming Full Council meeting, and Building Stronger Communities committee, and organising campaign days to keep listening to your views.

Orford Jubilee hub update

We're pleased to share that Orford Hub will be open as normal from 11:00am tomorrow (Wednesday 16 September).

We are still working through a small number of operational issues, so you may experience some minor disruption to services.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked to resolve the situation.
