Supporting National Cadets Week
is a UK-wide celebration of the cadet movement, held from 5 to 11 October 2026. It was launched by the Ministry of Defence to recognise the positive impact that cadets and adult volunteers have on young people and communities across the country.
Cheshire Police is proud to recognise the incredible contribution made by cadet organisations across Cheshire and the dedicated volunteers who help inspire the next generation.
Pictured is 1330 Warrington Squadron Air Training Corps - Royal Air Force Air Cadets , based at the Army Reserve Centre in Warrington. Run entirely by a team of committed volunteer staff, known as Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers (CFAVs), the squadron provides young people with opportunities that many will remember for a lifetime.
From adventure training, rock climbing and gorge walking, to sports, flying and aviation experiences, ceremonial duties, community projects, leadership training, educational visits and international trips, Royal Air Force Air Cadets develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and life skills while having fun and making new friends.
Cheshire Police is proud of its commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, recognising the valuable role that serving personnel, veterans, reservists, and cadet force volunteers play within our communities. Among our workforce is a Warrington-based officer who volunteers as a CFAV with 1330 Squadron, one of eight Cheshire Police employees who give their time to support cadet forces across the county.
The dedication of the staff and cadets at 1330 Squadron was recognised in 2025 when the unit was named the best RAF Air Cadet squadron in the North of England - a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment shown by everyone involved.
Thank you to all cadets and volunteers for the positive impact you have on young people and our communities.
