If your workforce holds a SHEA Water registration, now is a good time to check the details.

Following the changes introduced on 1 October, a SHEA Water registration and an EUSR CSCS card are now separate. Anyone who requires a CSCS card will need to apply for the appropriate card separately, based on the work they carry out.

For employers, checking that workers have the relevant training and registrations in place is an important part of keeping site access and safe working arrangements on track.

Flooding, extreme weather, infrastructure failures and other unexpected events can put pressure on water and wastewater services. Responding effectively depends not only on resilient infrastructure, but on people with the knowledge and skills to act when circumstances change.

SHEA Water has changed. Do you know what it means for your workforce?

From 1 October 2026, SHEA registrations are no longer automatically issued with a CSCS card. Workers who need a CSCS card must now apply for the card that matches their role, while continuing to hold a valid SHEA registration.

For employers, this makes it important to understand the new arrangements and make sure people have the training and registrations they need for the work they carry out.
