➡️ Latest news - Join the Council to discuss Hook Recreation Ground’s solar future
Fareham Borough Council is holding a face-to-face consultation event to present proposals for the development of a solar farm installation at Hook Recreation Ground. The event forms part of the Council’s public engagement activity ahead of submitting a planning application for the scheme.
A solar farm is an area of land with rows of solar panels that generate clean electricity from sunlight. It’s a low-impact way to produce renewable energy. The proposed scheme aims to support the Council’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and increasing renewable energy generation across the Borough.
Residents are encouraged to come along, speak with the project team and planning consultants, and share their views.
The consultation event will take place on Tuesday 24 February at Victory Hall, 27 Warsash Road, Warsash (Hook Room) between 5pm and 7pm.
Residents will be able to view detailed information about the proposed solar farm, speak directly with the project team, and provide feedback to help shape the planning application. Planning consultants will also be available to answer technical queries.
This consultation forms part of a wider engagement programme. Around 60 households closest to the proposed site have been informed directly by letter, and a wider leaflet drop to approximately 1,000 homes in the area will follow in mid-February.
A dedicated consultation website will go live in early February, providing further details about the project including how to submit comments online.
