We are non-political; we have no cultural or religious boundaries, and there is no gender discrimination. We welcome without distinction both men and women. In fact, to join us all we re

quire is that you are willing and you wish to foster and serve your local community. Of course, if you wish to add an outlet to your social life and improve your circle of friends, this is also available. The aim of any Lions Club (world wide) is to promote and benefit the less fortunate in our own localities. In addition to this we do provide International aid if required. The money for these projects is funded from all over the world but is always distributed by local Lions Clubs in the Countries concerned. The Warwick Lions Club meets at the Warwick Arms Hotel on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:45pm for a prompt 8:00pm start

How do we raise funds ? We organise and take part in several events during the year, Warwick Town Firework Display, Carols at the Castle, Race Day at Warwick Racecourse, Tin Shakes, Car Boot Fairs, Easter Egg Draws and the latest addition - The Caerphilly Men's Vocal Choir. Who benefits?

90% of the money we raise is spent locally. For instance, we have helped individuals and families with needs such as a pushchair, school uniforms, and furniture. Senior Citizens have been taken to the Pantomime and other shows, and for the elderly who live alone and cannot afford the cost of a telephone Life Line, the Club has provided the equipment on permanent loan. We also carry out a lot more activities and events to help our community, such as collecting and delivering Christmas parcels, and regular donations to local causes such as Myton Hospices, Northleigh School, and the Air Ambulance as well as donations to local youth organisations (Guides, Scouts, Cadets), to name but a few.
