Good news on school transport! The Parish Council's request for all roads from our Parish to Wiveliscombe to be classed as a 'dangerous route' (ie too dangerous for children to walk or cycle) has received a positive response from Somerset County Council. Any family in our parish who would like to apply for school transport (or reapply or appeal an earlier decision) should do so by contacting Somerset Direct Roads and Transport team who will be able to take an application over the phone. Chipstable Parish Council is currently preparing a letter to Somerset County Council about bus transport for our parish's schoolchildren, some of whom are expected to be able to walk to and from Wiveliscombe. If anyone has any views they would like to express or information about why their children have been refused transport, or why you choose not to use transport offered, please let us know via fb or email [email protected]

Thank you to Ken Martin for recently clearing the drains on Chipstable Road and removing the fallen tree. Without the help of our local farmers, our roads would have been impassable this week.
Chipstable Parish Council has reported our other drain and ditch problems to Taunton Deane, although staff are busy working in other more flooded parts of our county.

Mid Devon District Council Local Plan Review Options Consultation is open until 24 March.
There will be a public exhibition 29 January 10am-1pm at Bampton Riverside Hall if anyone wants to see the council's vision and strategy for Mid Devon up to 2033.
