Before & After

Completing a bedroom makeover & finishing with the wardrobe is a satisfying experience. Look at the difference when using matching hangers.

Having the right hangers makes a big difference to your clothing. On my travels I see lots of items misshapen due to the hangers & loads of clothing stuffed on one hanger. Putting your clothes on suitable hangers will let them stay in shape, not get creased & the space to breath.

Having a designated place for spare hangers is a good idea which may stop a floordrobe. If putting away clothing is difficult a chair 🪑 or the floor may seem like the easiest option.

The Hanger Store has lots of great hanger choice including my favourite velvet ones.

August 2026

The month started well with a weeks holiday to the Isle Of Wight. Followed by a day trip to the museum of illusions for our Georges 10th birthday. Another day trip to Brighton with family.

Visits from friends & family from Australia 🇦🇺 & the USA 🇺🇸.

Two exciting family engagements so looking forward to the parties 🥳.

Lots of organising & decluttering in between then finished the month celebrating the life of my lovely cousin Alan 😢. Then x 2 60th birthday parties 🍹🍺.

I am worn out just typing it all out 🤣.

Decluttering Treat 😊

I have been working with the loveliest Hungarian 🇭🇺 couple who insisted on gifting me a bottle of their local tipple. I have been told to take little sips as I can imagine it’s going to be strong 😂. I also walked away with a box of Ferrero Rocher which my hubby couldn’t wait to get his hands on 😊.

We were working together to declutter & organise their kitchen, diner & lounge which are all together.
The main aim with the kitchen was to dispose of out of date foods & surplus crockery etc. We then put all food types together which may seem obvious to some people but when you are overwhelmed it becomes more difficult. My client makes a lot of homemade pickles & jams plus buys in bulk. Buying in bulk is great if you have the space if not I advise to keep it to a minimum. You can often waste money if you can’t see what you have & continue to buy the same things.

We must have 🗑️ binned at least 4 large black sacks of expired goods. It can be easily done if you don’t have a system in place with your food shopping & storage.

I had a great couple of days helping my clients & they were pleased with the free storage I managed to get for them 😊. I will be back in September for more sessions.

Off to Berkhamsted today in the rain ☔️ which has finally come.

Do You Have A Chairdrobe 🪑?

If you place a chair in your bedroom without a purpose it can often become a chairdrobe 😊. This is an in between place for clothes worn but you can’t be bothered to put away as they can be worn again.
The trick is to give those clothes a designated area beside wardrobe or laundry 🧺 basket.

I suggest putting a set of hooks on the back of your bedroom door or a coat stand if you have the space. I use one end of my wardrobe rail for clothes that can be reworn.

Making the chair inconvenient or removing it full stop should work. If you wish to keep it, don’t leave it empty enough to become storage.

Get in the habit before bed 🛌 to have a couple of minutes reset.

If you have the space keep your laundry basket close so that you don’t end up with a floordrobe 🤣.

Do You Get The Hump When Everywhere Feels Untidy?

Being overwhelmed with the housework & tidying up plus clutter can cause lots of stress & unease. We often put off asking for help & when we finally do it we wonder 💭 why we didn’t do it sooner.

When you ask someone like myself to help you will get an organiser with years of experience & knowledge. We have storage solutions & systems at the ready. Everyone’s homes are different so research maybe needed & knowing what to look for is a god send.

You may have storage already in your possession but you don’t see it that way so an organiser could save you money.
My personal opinion is not to buy anything until you have completed a declutter.

Try not to get the hump, look for solutions & make a plan to get your home sorted. No excuses as help is at hand 🤚 & resources at your fingertips 😊.

Don’t forget tidy home 🏡 tidy mind.

What a busy month so far 😊

Had a busy August and despite the photos I did do some organising & decluttering in between 😂.

Started the month with a fabulous week in the lovely Isle of Wight with 2 of my sisters & my nephews.

Had a great afternoon at the Unicorn with my other sister Emma watching an Elvis tribute who was very funny 😁.

Celebrated George’s 10th birthday at the Museum of Illusions in TCR which is well worth a visit.

My lovely friend Michelle was visiting from Australia 🇦🇺 so Denise & I took a trip to visit her in Bracknell.

Got to spend lots of nice days with my most regular client & friend 🥰.

Finally finishing last Friday with a visit from an old friend Andy & his son Stevie. We had a great time visiting the Hertfordshire zoo & St Albans. I finally got to see the wonderful views of the city at the top of the clock tower. Only £2 a visit 😮.

Meal out with the in-laws before our nephew heads home to California.

Also had two engagements within my family 🩷🩷 & looking forward to the parties 🥳.

Now I am off to work to organise & declutter a kitchen.

10 Minute Declutter

Had a lovely day decluttering and organising my clients home office/study.

We started by going through her books 📚 & discovered two decluttering books. Which I must say weren’t read 😂, we agreed I would take one to read & send her the tips which I believe could help her & the rest of the family.

By the end of the session we had piles of recycling ♻️, paperwork for shredding & lots of books to be sold on the app Sell Your Books. If they can’t be sold the rest will be taken to the local charity shop or library.

We did find lots of stationery so perfect for when the kids go back to school.

The summer holidays is the perfect time to be organising & decluttering rooms in your home & outside buildings too.

Bedroom Declutter

A very satisfying job organising & decluttering a young girls bedroom.
I am sure the charity shop will be happy with these donations today.
I have sorted the items separately for rag to make life easier for the staff.
We also had two bags of rubbish too.

4.5 hours can really make a huge difference to a room which needs a very big clear out.

I organised all the clothing into categories, sorted make up & beauty products & created a memory box.

I always suggest having a waste paper bin in all bedrooms plus a laundry basket 🧺 if you have the space. Teaching your children what the process is at an early age will really help them as they grow up.

School holidays are a good time to have a sort out, see what stationery, uniform, bags, footwear you need for the new school year.

Have a lovely day, I am off to IKEA with a client so looking forward to an enjoyable day buying organisers, containers etc 😊.

Once A Month Client

As some of you already know I have my regulars & my client yesterday I see once a month. It started as me helping her to declutter before moving from a house to a flat in a residential elderly home.
I was with her on moving day did all the meter readings etc & made sure nothing was left. Dropped the keys off & helped her move into her new home.

Not everyone has family that can be there on the day & I have helped other clients in the past too.

It’s important to make them feel at home straight away & have some one there to liaise with the removal company as well.

I make my lovely client a cheese & salad cream sandwich & flask of tea every time I go as she was always forgetting to buy bread 🍞 & milk 😊. I am not sure 🤔 if she enjoys having my lunch rather than seeing me 😂.

I now go shopping for her to make sure she has plenty of supplies & freeze her bread into 2 slices at a time.

Yesterday I replaced an old file & relabelled the new one with sections she required plus more organising & tidying.

I enjoy my time with such an amazing lady who has travelled the world and has lots of tales to tell.

It makes my day when she says I am her fairy 🧚‍♀️ godmother 🥰.

Before & After A Declutter

Enjoyed decluttering & organising my clients shed or shall we call it man cave 😊.

Clearing the floor & organising into categories was my main aim. In fairness I did this in 3.5 hours & could have spent longer sorting more but had limited time.
We were also trying to fill the skip which was possibly being collected the next day.

As when I declutter a kitchen you need to do the numbers game in a shed too.
Consider how many tape measures, old paint brushes, rollers, buckets 🪣 etc you need to keep. Think 🤔 do I need 3 spades when I only have one pair of hands 🙌 😊?

My clients words were “ it looks fantastic & what a great job you’ve done. Massive thank you”. This made my day/week one happy home organiser 😀😀😀.

Hope you have a great week & if you need out buildings cleared out the summer is the best time to do it.
