At 7pm this evening, everyone is encouraged to light a candle (if safe to do so) and place it in their window for an hour to create a Wave of Light to recognise the final evening of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

The candles provide a poignant way to remember those babies who have died too soon, during pregnancy, still birth or in the early stages of infancy.

The Wave Of Light illuminated at 7pm across different time zones create a continuous wave across the globe. It brings communities, friends and families together, to remind those who have lost someone that they are not alone.

By doing this together, it helps break the silence surrounding baby loss and enables conversations to grow and show support for bereaved parents.

If you can, please light a candle, show your support and remember all those who have gone too soon.

This week is Baby Loss Awareness Week (9th-15th) and is an opportunity to bring us together as a community and give anyone touched by pregnancy and baby loss a safe and supportive space to share their experiences and feel that they are not alone.

Throughout this week there are a number of events taking place to spread the word that help and support is available.

On Thursday evening (15th) at 7.00pm, the week concludes with a Wave of Light, where everyone is encouraged to light a candle (if safe to do so) and place it your window for an hour.

We are very pleased to celebrate that our Apprentice Funeral Arranger Amelia De B**r has completed and passed her Level 2 Funeral Team Member Apprenticeship. Thank you to the teams at Connect2Care and Hertfordshire Futures for their support throughout the process, as well as Amelia's trainers Charlotte Ridley and Kath Banfield for all their time and effort supporting Amelia during the course.

This Sunday is a huge day for charity fundraising in our local community.

Firstly, we are delighted to sponsor the Abbots Langley Tough Ten once again this year. A road running race for all ages and abilities, with a 1.5km & 3km race for children, as well as a 5km and the infamous Tough 10km to set yourself a challenge through the village and surrounding area. All funds raised as part of the ALTT are distributed to local causes and charities.

Secondly, The Taylor Trek, named after the late great Graham Taylor, these three treks around Watford and the famous landmarks of GT and Watford FC, cover 3.5 miles, 8.3 miles or 18 miles. Funds raised here will be split between the Watford FC CSE Trust and Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care both charities and organisations which are supported by the team at M. K. Ginder & Sons Funeral Directors.

Finally, in London the Palace to Palace Walk & Cycle in aid of The King's Trust. The charity is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and money raised will be used to support young generations find future employment amongst other services. Our Managing Director, Adam K Ginder will be taking on the 13.1 mile walk around London and its famous sites.

What a busy Sunday it will be for those walking, trekking, running and cycling. All those taking part would love your support, whether that is cheering them on along the route, or by donating towards these fantastic causes.

Today was the Finals Day of the Hertfordshire Bowls Club Leagues sponsored by M. K. Ginder & Sons Funeral Directors.

The Finals were held this year in Watford at Herts Bowling Club. The Men’s League was won by Mill End Bowls Club who received the Ginder Cup and the Women’s League was won by the hosts Herts Bowling Club.

Our Managing Director Adam K Ginder had the honour to attend the finals and present the trophies to the winners.

Well done to everyone involved, a great way to conclude the summer season, going all the way down to an “extra end” (in the Women’s final).

Today we attended the 60th Anniversary Event at Chilterns Crematorium, near Amersham. M. K. Ginder & Sons Funeral Directors have been helping families arrange funerals at Chilterns Crematorium for over 40 years, when families have chosen to go there, because it’s nearer to home, the location of a previous family funeral or because of the beautiful gardens which surround it.

Today’s event highlighted major milestones of the past and the exceptional customer service provided now and for the future.

Happy Anniversary to all the team at Chilterns Crematorium.
