Wodensborough Ormiston Academy celebrates GCSE success as students achieve outstanding results
Students and staff at Wodensborough Ormiston Academy are celebrating today as Year 11 students collect their GCSE results, marking the culmination of years of hard work, commitment and determination.
The school, which is in Wednesbury and part of Ormiston Academies Trust, is celebrating the achievements of its students, who have shown resilience and ambition throughout their studies and are now preparing to take their next steps in education, training or employment.
This year’s cohort achieved particularly highly in English and mathematics, showing a 13% year-on-year improvement, as well as showing strong advancements in science.
The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.
While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:
- Tihanna achieved two Grade 9s in EnglishLanguage and English Literatures, three Grade 8s in music, Latin and geography, alongside a Grade 7 and two Grade 6s.
- Amrit accomplished Grade 9 in both chemistry and English Literature, as well as a Grade 8 and five Grade 7s.
- Joris secured a Grade 9 in French, a Distinction in health and social care, five Grade 8s and a Grade 6.
