Lincolnshire Independents

Lincolnshire Independents Your independent voice in local government: There is no party whipping system, which, is the mainstream party practice.

Lincolnshire Independents encourage individuals to widen their interest, participation and election to all levels of government not aligned to mainstream parties and politics – their commitment being to the interests and well-being of the communities where they live and work and wish to represent as well as the wider interests and well being of Lincolnshire. Lincolnshire Independent members in the

final instance are able to make decisions and vote in the interests of the communities they represent rather than take a party instruction. Lincolnshire Independents are able to work with and support any group, organisation or individual, regardless of their political leanings, if it benefits, or enables a positive outcome. Lincolnshire Independents are the coming together of independents united in Lincolnshire to work and support each other to further and promote the interests of the diverse communities they represent and Lincolnshire as a County. Lincolnshire Independents are a registered political party in order to comply with Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000 and Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 amongst other Acts. This regulates finances and transparency relating to donations, loans and accounting. Lincolnshire Independents being a registered political party requires formal membership subscription which does not permit membership of the mainstream parties and avoids the accusation of “so-and-so party member in disguise as an independent”.

🌾🍏 Did You Know? Lincolnshire: The Heart of Food Production in the UK!🍏🌾

We have been reflecting on the incredible contributions our county makes to the nation, and I’m compelled to share this fascinating fact with you all: Lincolnshire is the largest county in the UK for food processing! Incredibly, 40% of the food you consume comes from right here!

From fresh produce to high-quality meats and dairy products, our rich agricultural heritage and innovative food production techniques play a pivotal role in feeding the nation.

But it’s not just about numbers! This thriving industry supports local jobs, drives economic growth, and bolsters food security. Our farmers and producers are dedicated to ensuring sustainability and excellence in everything they do, crafting food that meets high standards while being mindful of our planet.

👉 Let's celebrate Lincolnshire’s legacy and commitment to quality food production! Whether you're part of the agricultural community, a business professional, or simply a conscientious consumer, you can play a role in supporting local initiatives and promoting sustainable practices.

Let’s cherish the abundance that Lincolnshire provides and continue to work together towards innovation and sustainability in food production. 💚

Some interesting articles on line this week; here from Kent Online.
Residents ran dry of water while thousands of gallons were extracted every day for two months - to wash solar panels. Whitstable, Herne Bay. Another cost to residents, not counted by the Government.

Kent’s biggest solar farm used tens of thousands of litres of water from a roadside standpipe to wash its panels as people’s taps ran dry.

🚨 Adult Care Scrutiny Update 🚨

We want to share some crucial insights from the recent Adult Care Scrutiny meeting held on 3.6.2026, as we strive for transparency and accountability in our care services.

🔍 Key Points from Cllr Marianne Overton MBE:

1. No Decisions Made: ALL options are still on the table. The consultation period runs for 12 weeks starting 15th June.

2. Engagement is Vital: Conversations with social workers are essential for those needing short breaks. This ensures that everyone's voice is heard.

3. Current Services Extended: To ensure a seamless transition, the current service will continue until the end of July 2027.

4. Reassessment Needed: We need to evaluate our facilities – are they truly equipped for modern care?

5. Trust Issues: Our recent experience shows that while One You Lincolnshire was overwhelmingly supported, funding was redirected away from adult care to children's services. This raises serious questions about the prioritisation of our resources.

It's time we challenge our approach and demand alternatives that truly serve our community's needs. We must not let trust be undermined – our most vulnerable deserve better!

Your voice matters. Let's ensure our care system reflects the needs of everyone in our county! 🤝💪

🌟 A Heartfelt Celebration of Community 🌟

We had the pleasure of attending a wonderful lunch during a community day for Eid celebrations, where over 250 guests came together in Lincoln. It was a joyful occasion filled with laughter, delicious food, and a strong sense of togetherness.

Events like this remind us of the importance of community and the bonds we share, regardless of our backgrounds. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a success. Together, we celebrate our diversity and foster a spirit of unity.

Here’s to many more wonderful gatherings and shared experiences in the future!
