Get your boots on, WAENDEL IS BACK!
International Wændel Walk Weekend 2026
The Waendel Walk is always an amazing event, and the 1000’s of people who walk, love it. Well, it's back for the 45th time in three weeks and so am I with my bright orange Hoopoe bird, also called Waendel. I am very much looking forward to it...
Over the past three of years I have asked you to come and say hello to me and my bird Waendel, and you do! Thank you for sharing your walks with me. To get you in Waendel Walk mode, here is a video of all my photos that I shared last year:
Watch the video at: youtu.be/5LR73_8-nAI
This video has all the photos from last year of you, and there are more than 390 of them! You can also see the photos on my Jonathan Hornett page and X, Instagram, Threads, Tik Tok and on Nextdoor. The music on the video is fittingly called The Hoopoe Bird by The Oops Brothers, thank you for letting me use your song chaps.
This year I will be sharing your photos via Wellingborough Town Council's socials on all of the above platforms plus on BlueSky and additionally on Facebook at facebook.com/Waendel2026 where you can find the latest updates and details, or find out more on the website:
