Tonight we went off station to Telford Central to practice our road traffic collision techniques...whilst there we were requested to attend a incident in Aquaduct to assist our Ambulance colleagues.
All turned out well and then returned to our training session

2 animal rescues for Amber Watch this afternoon!

First call came in at 12:00 - Reports of a calf stuck on a ledge next to the river in Shrewsbury. We were mobilised alongside Red Watch Wellington and Shrewsbury, along with the boat and Rescue Tender. Crews accessed the calf by boat and brought it to shore where it was left in the care of the vet. 🐮 🚒

2nd call came in at 14:44 whilst on route back to station. We were mobilised along side Red Watch Wellington, Bishops Castle + Clun Fire Station. This time for a RTC involving a HGV carrying approx 450 sheep. On arrival, the HGV was found on its side with the driver trapped in the cab. Crews worked to release the casualty and he was left in the care of the ambulance service.
Crews then started work on the sheep being carried in the trailer. Due to the construction of this type of trailer, access was difficult but using various different tools we were able to gain access and release the sheep to a nearby field.
Fantastic teamwork from all involved throughout both jobs.
Thanks to the farmers and vets who assisted us throughout this rescue.
Officialwmas + Police were in attendance with us.
Crews returned to station approx 19:30.

Amber Watch alerted at 19:57 yesterday evening along with White Watch Wellington, and Craven Arms Fire Station to reports of a large animal rescue from water in Craven Arms.
On arrival, crews found one horse, named Cody approx 70% submerged in mud and water. Once the vet sedated the animal, crews slid 2 rescue strops, under the horse to allow the tele-handler to lift Cody to safety.
