Next Wednesday, an HBC team will be swapping site boots for football boots as we take part in the Game on for Neurodiversity corporate 7-a-side football tournament at Watford FC Training Ground. ⚽

The event, organised in aid of , will raise funds and awareness to support neurodivergent children, young people and their families across Hertfordshire.

It promises to be an afternoon of football, teamwork, friendly competition and hopefully only a small amount of questionable tactical decision-making from the sidelines.

We’re really proud to be taking part and supporting such an important cause. Good luck to all the teams involved, and especially to our HBC squad. No pressure, but we are expecting at least one heroic goal celebration.

Best New Housing Development (10+ units)

Congratulations to Durkan Homes for The Onslow development in Hatfield, winner of our Best New Housing Development (10+ units) award.

This impressive 87-unit development delivers a strong mix of private and affordable homes, with a clear design-led approach, thoughtful placemaking and a real focus on resident wellbeing.

The judges were particularly impressed by the development’s coherent design, generous daylight, private amenity spaces and flexible internal layouts that support modern living. Sustainability was also built into the scheme through a fabric-first approach and carefully selected materials.

A standout element of this project was the way the team managed construction directly next to a live school environment. Through careful planning, controlled site access, sensitive programming and ongoing communication with the school, the development was delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption.

With high-quality homes in a fantastic location, it is no surprise that 80% of sales were to first-time buyers.

A very worthy winner. Congratulations to everyone involved. πŸ‘

This impressive refurbishment demonstrates how an existing home can be transformed to meet modern standards of performance, sustainability and design.
