Just as the snowdrops disappear, the daffodils have come out at the entrance to Singlers Marsh and all along Fulling Mill Lane. Very pretty.
Sadly, this view will disappear if WHBC proceeds with its plans to put 232 homes across the entire hillside between Linces and Hawbush, entirely enveloping the cemetery and the evangelical church. The land in this photo all the way up to the signage board will be tarmacced over for a new access road (and bridge).
The developer's road plans are shown in the photo below. Forget the annual duck race, and say hello to 500+ cars' worth of pollution gushing into the chalk stream every time it rains.
Welwyn Planning & Amenity Group, Welwyn Parish Council and others are working hard to rebut WHBC's proposals. Watch this space in the coming days to see how you can help.

We are trying to register Singlers Marsh as an official Village Green. This will protect it from development for generations to come. The borough council is against us. There is now a legal process. We have legal costs. Please donate for Welwyn.

A huge thanks to everyone who came to last week's public meeting about Singlers Marsh. We had a great turnout and a vibrant discussion - see the separate post with the WH Times write-up.

Here are the slides that we showed on the night:

Thank you Welwyn! Your generosity and support in such a short period of time has been amazing. We are now just £600 away from our target.

If you're able to help us take Singlers Marsh one step closer to gaining long-lasting protection from development, please consider donating to our fighting fund at: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/singlers-marsh-april2025-legal-costs

Thank you
