We’ve already heard from lots of people across Wem about what matters to them.

𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗡’𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗔𝗦 𝗠𝗨𝗖𝗛 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟-𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗡.

Your children are heading back to school now, but what do you want Wem to be like for them as they grow up?

Wem Town Council is asking local residents what its priorities for spending money should be in the future.

Wem Town Council currently supports a range of local services, facilities and organisations — but 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂?

🎄✨ Could YOUR design shine in Wem this Christmas? ✨🎄

Wem Town Council is inviting children to get creative and design a brand-new Christmas light that could become part of Wem’s festive Christmas display! 💡

🏆 The winning design will be transformed into a Christmas light and displayed in Wem for everyone to enjoy throughout the Christmas season!

🌟 Who can enter?
Children of primary school age who live in Wem Town or attend St Peter’s School.

🎨 The challenge?
Keep your design simple, bold and easy to recognise — choose a Christmas object or character and let your imagination sparkle!

• What you think the Town Council should prioritise if additional funding becomes available
• Your views on whether the Town Council should consider taking on services currently provided by Shropshire Council
• How you feel about the possible impact on the Town Council part of your Council Tax

🌞🎨 Boredom buster for the summer holidays! 🎨🌞

Got children at home who are starting to run out of things to do? Why not get their creative juices flowing and enter the Wem Christmas Festival Logo Competition! 🎄✨

The winning design will become the official logo for the Wem Christmas Festival 2026 which will be held on 28.11.26!

The tree outline can be downloaded from www.wem.gov.uk/wem-christmas-festival or picked up from Wem Library.

So, while the sun is shining and Christmas might seem a long way away… why not give your children a fun creative challenge this summer?
