This International Day of Charity, we’re celebrating what generosity can make possible.

Charity can mean many things.

It can mean colleagues climbing mountains in the night, raising thousands for a great cause and watching the sun rise from the summit.

It can mean giving young people with sight loss the chance to enjoy football, build confidence and make new friendships.

It can mean preserving a precious piece of our history, restoring stained glass windows from City Hospital so they can be enjoyed by generations to come.

It can mean bringing communities together to talk about prevention, wellbeing and healthier lives.

It can mean giving our clinicians access to specialist, life-saving training – or bringing music onto our wards to offer patients a moment of joy, comfort and connection.

You’ll be able to access free health checks including blood pressure monitoring, blood oxygen testing, height and weight measurements and ECG heart tracing, as well as advice from healthcare professionals on keeping your heart healthy.

There’ll also be free swimming, badminton and exercise sessions throughout the day!
