Every day, our teams make a difference 💜

As part of our Away Day, colleagues took a moment to reflect on the difference they make, often through small, everyday actions and the support they offer.

The words shared were honest and personal. Listening, supporting and helping people rebuild their lives. A quiet reminder of the impact behind the work, and the voices at the heart of it.

Our staff are the fabric of BCWA 💜

At our Away Day, colleagues shared what BCWA means to them: Quiet reflections on the moments, values and experiences that shape their work.

Each one tells part of our story. We’re looking forward to bringing them together into a quilt: a simple, collective reminder of the care, compassion and commitment that runs through everything we do.

Looking ahead to the next 40 years 💜

As part of our Away Day, colleagues were invited to make a personal pledge: what they will carry forward as we continue to support survivors and create change.

From standing alongside survivors to amplifying voices and challenging inequality, the responses were powerful, heartfelt and deeply rooted in our purpose.

Our recent Employee Away Day gave us the chance to come together and reflect on 40 years of Black Country Women’s Aid 💜

Centred on the power of the victim voice, it was a reminder of why listening and learning matter, and how lived experience continues to shape what we do. Alongside this, we took time to recognise our teams and think about what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make it such a meaningful day💜

We were pleased to welcome the Independent Anti‑Slavery Commissioner, Eleanor Lyons, and her team to Black Country Women’s Aid today, alongside Ann‑Marie Douglas from The Salvation Army United Kingdom and Ireland Territory - one of our valued funding partners supporting our Modern Slavery service.

The visit included an overview of our work supporting survivors of modern slavery, insights from our Centre of Analysis of Exploitation (CeAnEx), and open, honest discussions about the challenges victims face.

The day also included a visit to our safehouse, where the voices and experiences of survivors remain at the heart of everything we do.

We’re proud to share our work, strengthen partnerships, and continue advocating for those affected by exploitation.

Thank you to NBB Waldrons Solicitorss for your fantastic support 💜

We’re proud to be your chosen charity for this year’s Dragon Boat Race at Himley Hall. Every effort and donation will help us continue supporting women and children affected by abuse and exploitation.

Good luck Katie and the ‘Rapid Rowers’. We’ll be cheering you on! 🚣‍♀️

We are excited to be taking part in this year’s Dragon Boat Race, hosted by the Rotary Club of Wolverhampton. On Sunday 17th May at Himley Hall and Park , our team ‘NBB Waldrons Rapid Rowers’ led by Katie Hinton will be rowing away in support of Black Country Women's Aid. Your donations will be vital for helping women and children suffering in domestic abuse. Every contribution, big or small can help make a real difference and impact a child’s life. We are truly grateful for every support we receive.
