Come and join us at our next meeting on Thursday 10 Sept 2026 at 7pm at West Felton village hall. The guest speaker will be Jack Dent who is a local magician and he’ll be entertaining us with a talk about The History & Mystery of Magic along with plenty of tricks and illusions.

Ladies, you are welcome to come along as a visitor to see what West Felton WI is all about - lots of laughter, chat and friendship plus activities galore. You do not have to make jam but just want to have fun and make new friends.

The visitors entrance fee is £5 which incl tea & refreshments. The annual WI membership is currently £50.00 (there is no extra charge for the monthly meetings). We meet every 2nd Thursday in the month in the village hall at 7pm except for May and August. We currently have 51 members with an age range of 35 - 95.

If you think it looks interesting and fun, why don't you join us? You can attend two meetings before you decide whether you want to become a fully signed up member or not.

You do not have to live in the village to visit or join. The WI is for women aged 18-118 ~ for women just like you! Be brave and just come along!

What a fabulous talk and enthralling demonstration about simulated injuries/trauma scenes we had from Casualties Union at our July meeting.

Anne explained they regularly get involved with injury/accident simulation exercises/training experiences which help healthcare professionals, rescuers and first responders to develop vital skills in care, diagnosis, and treatment.

Anne demonstrated how they use professional makeup techniques to add to the realism of injuries – she showed us how to make a wound using a play dough type of material along with fake blood. Many fake wounds are now made of silicone and are extremely realistic.

She then went on to show us how to make a black eye using make up – it looked so convincing and painful too!

A thoroughly enjoyable evening even if a tad warm!
