Regrettably, we shut our rangers reception desk and Visitor Centre yesterday.

All other retail outlets run by the Lulworth Estate have closed, so have our car parks, as and all toilet facilities at Lulworth Cove.

The situation will be reviewed in four weeks.

When we can, we will post images of our beautiful area with the aim of brightening up the days while we are all at home.

We would just like to say a big thank you to all our supporters at this difficult time.

Please note that during this time, our phones won’t be staffed, emails and messages on social media have no guarantee of a response.

Stay safe and see you all on the other side.

Some really positive news to share with you all......

The Fossil Forest will reopen from tomorrow morning!

It has been a long time coming but after years of hard work from a whole host of organisations, access has now been restored.

As ever, when accessing anywhere within the Army ranges, please adhere to the rules and access times which can be found here -https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lulworth-access-times/lulworth-range-walks-and-tyneham-village-access-times-2020

A nice read which gives further information can be found via the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - AONB -

It is with great regret that due to the current situation regarding COVID-19, we are canceling all of our events up until the beginning of July.
We will be contacting those who have already booked on to our various events in the coming days.
We remain hopeful that we will be able to deliver the bulk of our events programme from the beginning of July.

What a brilliant response to the organised litter pick at Lulworth Cove this morning. Several of our colleagues were joined by local families, and there were up to 25 people working hard to tidy up the cove. Lots of plastic came in and one of the biggest items picked up was a lost surf board. A massive thank-you to everyone who gave up their Sunday morning to help, despite the early rain. Actions like this make a huge difference and can inspire others to get involved. A big thanks also to Jackie and Amanda from the Lulworth team for organising the event. They are already talking about another litter pick at Easter, so watch this space.

Reports of a cliff fall in-between Durdle Door and White Nothe were investigated yesterday.
We found a continuation of the ongoing cliff fall on the eastern side of Bat's Head.
Comparing historic photographs with ones we took yesterday, we estimate to have lost about 1.5m of the coastpath. At the moment, the section closest to the fence is safe to use, but as ever we urge users of the path to take care and remain vigilant of the dynamic conditions.

No swallows here yet but they are sure to be on their way. In the meantime why not join us on our first Beginners Birdwatching course at Lulworth Castle on Friday 13th March. Its a great way to brush up on bird identification skills, and there were loads of different species out and about yesterday enjoying the nicer weather. Just ring 01929 400587 to book a place.
