Following last winter’s flooding, we’re already taking action with a £9.25 million programme of recovery and improvements to support affected communities and prepare for more extreme weather in the future.
This includes:
✅£250,000 for extra gully and drain clearing
✅Major repair works across Dorset
✅£456,000 of investment in locations including Cerne Abbas and Godmanstone.
We’re now planning the next step - working closely with communities to understand what happened and make sure we’re better prepared for the future.
Next week, Cabinet will be asked to approve a programme of flood investigations and local reviews, which will:
🔎 Give residents clear answers about what caused the flooding
📍 Identify where improvements are needed most
💬 Ensure local experiences shape future decisions.
