In Loving Memory of the Founder of CW Surfacing.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Wenham, who founded CW Surfacing in 1987, working in the industry for over 50 years.
Charles was more than a pioneering leader in the surfacing industry—he was a visionary whose passion and dedication laid the foundation for a company that continues to thrive today. With an unwavering commitment to quality, integrity, and customer service, he transformed CW Surfacing from a small start-up into a trusted name known throughout the surfacing industry.
Over the years, Charles’ leadership inspired not only the growth of the business but also the loyalty and respect of his employees, clients, and peers. He was a mentor, a hard worker, and above all, a kind and generous soul who cared deeply for his community and team.
His legacy lives on through the continued success of CW Surfacing and the many lives he touched both personally and professionally. He leaves behind a devoted family, with his son and grandsons continuing the family business alongside a strong team that loved working with him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In our drive for innovation and sustainability we have the capability to carry out infrared asphalt repair with our new infrared heater.

One of the standout features of infrared asphalt heating is the seamless bond it creates between new and old asphalt. This superior bonding prevents water intrusion, which is a common issue in traditional repairs. By ensuring that these repairs are more resilient to weather conditions, the longevity of the asphalt surface is significantly improved.

One of the most compelling reasons to adopt infrared asphalt heating is its contribution to sustainability. By minimizing the amount of virgin material required for repairs, this method significantly lowers carbon dioxide emissions associated with asphalt production and transportation.

It was a great honour for C.W. Surfacing to see our work on the Spur Road, directly in front of Buckingham Palace, featured so prominently during the VE Day parade. Completed on behalf of GW Highways, this project stands as a proud example of our commitment to quality and precision in surfacing and infrastructure. To have our craftsmanship form the very foundation of such a historic and nationally significant event is not only a professional milestone, but also a deep source of pride for our entire team.

It is with deep sadness that I announce last week we sadly lost our dear friend and Foreman Julian Excell after a short illness.

Julian was a dear friend to us all, as well as an employee of our family run company for over 26 years. Julian’s loyalty, hard work, commitment and support helped CW Surfacing become what it is today. He was truly one of a kind and we will miss his friendly presence.

Our deepest condolences and support go out to his family and friends.

Rest in peace Julian, you will be dearly missed.
