The Hellfire Caves are a network of man-made chalk and flint caverns which extend a quarter of a mile (500 metres) underground, they were excavated between 1748 and 1752 for Sir Francis Dashwood and are situated above the village of West Wycombe.

“I felt completely fine walking into the caves… until I reached the section near the Banqueting Hall. Suddenly I felt like I couldn’t breathe — like something heavy was pressing down on me. I had to get out.

When I mentioned it in the shop, the staff said others have felt the same. A medium once told them there’s a presence in that part of the caves…” – Joanna

QUEST WEEK HAS STARTED ✨

14th–21st February, the Portal opens once again at West Wycombe Caves… and adventure is waiting inside.

Goblins, elves, and mysterious creatures are hidden throughout the caves, ready to meet brave Adventurers. 🧝‍♂️🧙‍♀️

Every explorer will receive a Quest Card and choose from five magical challenges. Complete at least three quests, collect your Stamps of Approval, and claim your prize.

Tickets are the same price as general admission and available via the link in our bio.

And remember… there’s a prize for the BEST costume.
Witches, wizards, elves, goblins – we can’t wait to see you. 🧙

“Years ago, my parents were driving near the caves late at night when they saw a white lady standing on the grass. They slammed the brakes… but when they looked back, she was gone.

Years later, my brother brought home a book about the White Lady of West Wycombe — my dad turned white. And he never believed in that sort of thing…”
