πŸŽ‰ We're proud to share that on Sunday 6 September, the Fostering North Somerset team, alongside our amazing foster carers, came together at Kingston Seymour Town Hall to launch our 5th Mockingbird Hub.

The Mockingbird Programme creates extended-family style support networks for foster carers and the children they care for, helping to build stronger connections, resilience and a sense of belonging.

The new hub was named 'Branches' as every individual in the hub is unique but connected.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this special occasion. Together, we're continuing to strengthen our fostering community and create brighter futures for children and young people across North Somerset.

πŸ’œ You don’t need to have all the answers to make a difference in a young person’s life. Your experience, care and support could help them take their next step.

For a young person stepping out of residential care, having a safe, loving and supportive home can make all the difference. As a foster carer, you can help them build confidence, plan for their future and feel secure as they take those important steps towards independence.

With training, ongoing support and a team of people around you, we’ll help you develop the skills and confidence you need to foster.

Every young person deserves someone in their corner. πŸ’œ

Could you provide the loving home a young person needs to plan their future?

πŸ’™ Even a short break can make a lifelong difference.

By providing planned short breaks for a child or young person with a disability, you can help them build confidence, develop new friendships and enjoy new experiences in a safe and supportive environment. πŸ’™

Sometimes it's the simple things that have the biggest impact. Sharing hobbies, exploring new places, trying new activities or simply spending time with someone who cares can make a real difference to a child's life.

Short breaks are about creating positive memories, encouraging independence and helping a child to thrive.
