🎉 We're proud to share that on Sunday 6 September, the Fostering North Somerset team, alongside our amazing foster carers, came together at Kingston Seymour Town Hall to launch our 5th Mockingbird Hub.

The Mockingbird Programme creates extended-family style support networks for foster carers and the children they care for, helping to build stronger connections, resilience and a sense of belonging.

The new hub was named 'Branches' as every individual in the hub is unique but connected.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this special occasion. Together, we're continuing to strengthen our fostering community and create brighter futures for children and young people across North Somerset.

💜 You don’t need to have all the answers to make a difference in a young person’s life. Your experience, care and support could help them take their next step.

For a young person stepping out of residential care, having a safe, loving and supportive home can make all the difference. As a foster carer, you can help them build confidence, plan for their future and feel secure as they take those important steps towards independence.

With training, ongoing support and a team of people around you, we’ll help you develop the skills and confidence you need to foster.

☀️ Summer & Beach Games Morning! 🌊💙

Our foster carers and children came together for a summer beach and games morning, enjoying plenty of fun, laughter and quality time together in the sunshine.

From games on the sand to lots of smiles and shared moments, it was a lovely opportunity for our fostering families to spend time together, make new memories and enjoy being part of our fostering community.

A huge thank you to the North Somerset Sports Foundation Somerset Sports Foundation for helping make the morning such a success and for providing fantastic games and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Every child deserves the chance to feel supported, included and cared for. Could you be the person who helps make that possible for a child in North Somerset?

By providing planned short breaks for a child or young person with a disability, you can help them build confidence, develop new friendships and enjoy new experiences in a safe and supportive environment. 💙

Sometimes it's the simple things that have the biggest impact. Sharing hobbies, exploring new places, trying new activities or simply spending time with someone who cares can make a real difference to a child's life.

Our Summer Gala was all about celebrating the incredible children and young people in North Somerset's care.

From resilience and kindness to creativity, leadership and academic achievement, every award recognised a young person with a unique story and a bright future. 🌟

We're so proud of every young person who joined us, and incredibly grateful to our foster carers, staff and partners who help create a community where children feel safe, supported and truly belong.

At North Somerset, we don't stop caring at 18. We stand alongside our care-experienced young people because that's what families do.
