A couple of incidents over the weekend, and others since the Play Space Redevelopment in St Mary Bourne have led to the need for this message from St Mary Bourne Parish Council.
Over this weekend the Maple Leaf shaped commemorative sign was taken off the fence (where it was fairly firmly secured), taken to the top of the Adventure Tower and abandoned.
The lid of the litter bin near the entrance gate to the SMB Play Area was removed and left lying in the middle of the play area.
Previously one of the Netball Hoops was removed from it's pole and has disappeared - assumed stolen. As a consequence of this both hoops (including the £96 replacement) have been removed and locked away. (Anyone wishing to use the netball posts and hoops are welcome to contact the Parish Clerk to gain access).
The irrigation system in the planters at the car park end of the play area have been tampered with, luckily not yet broken, but with current treatment may not be long.
On two occassions someone has let their dog foul on the tennis court, and decided not to clear it away.
The level of litter that is left in the Play Area is frankly disgusting. There are at least 4 nearby bins which could be used.
The vast majority of people and children behave in a most acceptable way, it's a shame the minority let everyone down, and seem to have very little respect for the facilities available to the community.
We would like parents to double-check what their unsupervised children (we assume it's not adults) are doing when let out to play, and please ensure you know what your dog is up to when following on behind.
Many Thanks
