Please be aware.....

The usual jetting of the sewers was not able to take place on Wednesday evening, so will be taking place this evening (Friday). This does involve a rolling road closure between the Bourne Valley Inn and the War Memorial in SMB.

There is also a tanker during the day today working at the Applegate area of SMB village supporting maintenance works which are being carried out there.

They apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The Parish Council have fedback that Friday night is usually SMB at its busiest.

Dear Residents,

We have been asked to share information from the police regarding a potential increase in opportunistic thefts from vehicles across local areas in the coming weeks.
These offences typically involve criminals targeting unsecured vehicles or those with valuables left on display. Both rural and residential communities may be affected.
While there is no immediate cause for concern, residents are encouraged to take the following simple precautions:
• Always lock vehicles, even when parked on driveways or outside homes.
• Remove all valuables from view, including bags, tools and electronic devices.
• Avoid leaving keys or keyless entry fobs near doors or windows.
• Park in well-lit, overlooked areas where possible.
• Report any suspicious activity or unfamiliar individuals or vehicles in the area.
Police will continue to carry out patrols where appropriate and undertake proactive measures to prevent crime and reassure communities.
Please remain vigilant and report any incidents promptly, as timely information helps identify patterns and enables an effective response.
Thank you for your continued support in helping to keep our community safe.
Kind regards,

Tanya Mew - Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator
