There’s something about a stay at Combermere Abbey that never leaves you.

For those who have stayed in The North Wing or cottages, The Combermere Club is a natural next step.

Created exclusively for our guests, it is not something you simply join, it is something you become part of. A continuation of time spent here, shaped by shared moments, familiar paths, and a quiet understanding of what makes this place so special.

The Combermere Club is not about status, but belonging. A considered community where heritage meets hospitality, and where connection continues long after your stay. Through private events, seasonal gatherings, and thoughtful experiences, it offers a way to return, again and again, in new and meaningful ways.

Because at Combermere, our guests are never just visitors. They are part of the story. Read more via our bio/below: https://combermereabbey.co.uk/stories/growing-legacy-living-future/

“…I still feel like my stay here was all a dream.”

There’s something about a stay in the North Wing that lingers. The stillness of the water beyond the windows, the comfort of the Salamanca Suite, and the thoughtful touches that make each moment feel quietly special.

The people as much as the place shapes that experience.

“Stephan was an incredible host and by request made us an amazing grazing platter. The homegrown apple juice and local gin were excellent. He is exceptionally talented and so friendly and helpful. Jo’s breakfast was so special. The presentation of the food and the table setting was stunning. We felt very spoilt. Jo was an absolute delight.”

A piece of paradise, as our guests so often describe it.

A short drive from Combermere, in the heart of Nantwich, you’ll find somewhere that feels both new and deeply rooted in its surroundings.

Edwards is a wine and coffee bar shaped by story, community, and a sense of returning home. When Sarah visited, she met Kelly, who shared her journey back from Melbourne to open St Martha Restaurant in 2019, now a much-loved Greek restaurant in the town.

In January 2025, Edwards Deli and Wine followed. Named after Kelly’s grandad, it carries forward the heritage of the former wine bar that once stood in its place, while creating something new. A space to gather, celebrate, and feel part of the community.

Welcomed quickly by locals, it has become just that. A place for morning coffee, evening wine, and everything in between.

If you’re staying at Combermere, both St Martha’s and Edwards are well worth a visit.

Within Combermere Abbey, history is not just preserved, it stands bold and proud. The Tudor Study in the North Wing is one such space. A room that speaks to centuries of change, where layers of the Abbey’s past have been carefully uncovered through a meticulous restoration project.

Today, the Tudor Study offers a more intimate connection to that history. A place to pause and experience the Abbey not just as it is now, but as it has evolved over the past six hundred years.

Guests staying in the North Wing can enjoy this space as part of their stay - strong design, centuries old oak beams and welcoming comfortable furniture - ideal for curling up with a good book.

For those looking to explore the Abbey’s history, our Public Tours and Invitation to View Tours offer a rare opportunity to step inside and discover the heritage, craftsmanship, and restoration that define Combermere today.

Even with just one night at Combermere, our cottages offer both a restful pause and the perfect starting point to explore the surrounding countryside and local attractions.

The restored courtyard cottages, once Victorian stables, sit quietly at the heart of the estate. Each is individual, yet all share the same considered approach: calm, comfortable, and designed so you settle in without effort. An ideal base to return to after a day spent discovering the area.

Stone Lodge, an iconic architectural jewel, is set in its own space at the entrance and offers a more private retreat. Surrounded by its own orchard and enclosed garden, it invites slower moments even if you’re simply passing through for a night.

Enjoy our Early Bird Staycation Offer for cottage stays between 4th May – 20th July, including a complimentary English breakfast hamper to start your mornings slowly. Use code SPRINGTREAT and book by 31st May to secure your treat.
