Last year, we as your Besses Labour councillors surveyed you on the future of this building. You told us you wanted something for families, something that had a health focus and a place for the community to be together in Besses.

Today, we’re celebrating exactly that with the opening of our new Live Well Centre in Whitefield on Albert Road.

Come down to explore the space and chat to the staff at the centre to find out about what’s on at the building!

The Whitefield Live Well Centre will host its Family Fun Day on 16th August 12pm-3pm. Come down to see the new community centre right in the heart of Besses!

We’re excited to finally see the centre open after campaigning for the building to be kept in public use.

A bit of a summer round-up ☀️

As we’re heading into council recess (our summer break), the work doesn’t stop. Over the last few months, we’ve been making the most of the great things that are happening in Besses – allotment open days, litter picks, some campaigning for GM Mayor, and of course, picking up issues for residents.

We’ll share some exciting news on the Live Well Centre that we successfully campaigned tomorrow (which you may have already seen) 👀

We were at the Besses PACT meeting tonight to raise issues about speeding e-bikes, antisocial behaviour and parking.

🚨 The Police continue to encourage residents to report any non-emergency incidents or information via 101 and Crimestoppers.

A quick update on the Simister Island Junction 18 project from Cllr Lucy Smith, Labour.

National Highways will be at St Andrew’s until 8pm tonight for residents to drop in and ask questions 🕗
