Helen and Martin reflect on their first weeks as Green councillors! 💚🎉

They’ve both hit the ground running: attending their first council meeting, litterpicking, joining protests and answering resident’s casework. As North Tyneside’s first ever Green councillors, there’s a long road ahead, but they’re both excited to see what can be achieved, working in partnership with their communities in North Shields and Whitley Bay. ⛵🏖️

We'll be keeping you up to date with the work Helen, Martin and the team are doing at council and out-and-about; it's time to make North Tyneside fairer and greener! 💪

🎉🎉 Hot off the press from the North Tyneside council count - North Shields just declared and Martin won!!!! 🎉🎉

North Tyneside has its first Green councillor and we now have a seat at the table.

The sun came out for our doorknocking teams in Shiremoor and Whitley Bay yesterday, as we spoke to our neighbours about everything from day-to-day challenges like pavements and parking, to long term aims for what Green voices in the room could achieve locally.

Wherever you are in North Tyneside, there’ll be a dedicated local Green candidate on your ballot paper on Thursday, passionate about supporting their community. With your support, let's make a difference together! 🙌🎉

Wise words from Wearside with one week to go until polling day! 💚🗳️

Next Thursday’s Local Elections won’t change things overnight on North Tyneside, but they are an important opportunity to bring new Green voices into the room and hold Labour accountable on local issues that matter, from transport and public safety, to litter, parks and pavements. Let’s ! 👏

This election you are not voting to 'stop the boats' or to 'get starmer out' - you are voting for which neighbour you trust to protect your local green spaces, make sure your bins are collected, and to ensure your roads are pothole free and fit for use.

Our Green Party candidates are all local people who care about the details - the mundane everyday bits and pieces that make your week run smoothly and comfortably.

Stay focused and don't allow yourself to be distracted by the divisive national politics that the other mainstream parties are pushing.
