This October, we are proud to celebrate Black History Month and recognise the rich history, culture, achievements and contributions of Black communities across the UK and beyond.

The official UK theme for Black History Month 2026 is "Honouring Our Communities", celebrating the strength, resilience and positive impact of Black communities past and present.

At Kasper Fostering, we believe every child should feel valued, respected and proud of who they are. Supporting children to understand and embrace their heritage and identity is an important part of helping them thrive.

Together, let's continue learning, celebrating diversity, and creating a sense of belonging for every child.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our Founding Director, Mac Ornsby, passed away peacefully on 4 September.

Nearly 30 years ago, Mac decided that Kasper was needed. From that decision grew a community built on relationships, trust, and a belief that all children should be able to grow up in families where they feel safe, valued and loved.

Many people connected to Kasper, past and present, will have their own memories of Mac. For some, he was there at the beginning of their fostering journey. For others, he was a familiar face at events, celebrations and gatherings, always taking great pride in the achievements of our children, young people and foster families.

Over recent days, we have been deeply touched by the kindness, memories and messages that have been shared. They are a reminder of the difference Mac made, not only through founding Kasper, but through the community of people that has grown around it over the last three decades.

While Mac's passing is a significant loss, what he started continues in the children and young people who have been supported, the foster families who have opened their homes, and the shared values that remain at the heart of the Kasper family.

Mac will be greatly missed 🤍

Adventure, teamwork, and lots of fun! 🛶🧗🏹

Yesterday, we enjoyed another action-packed day, working together to build rafts, challenging ourselves on the climbing wall, and putting our skills to the test with archery!! 🎯

It was fantastic to see the children stepping outside their comfort zones, supporting each other, and celebrating every achievement along the way.

We are so proud of the enthusiasm, resilience, and teamwork shown throughout the day. 🌟

MEN WHO FOSTER......💙

Last week, some of our male foster carers in Kent met up for a spot of lunch and a catch up to talk about all things "Men Who Foster".

From sharing stories and experiences to supporting one another, it was a great opportunity to connect with people who truly understand the fostering journey. Thank you to everyone who joined in for an enjoyable afternoon.
