👏 Community Impact at Aspull RUFC 👏

A huge thank you to Tilbury Douglas for supporting Aspull RUFC by carrying out improvement works at Woodshaw Park, including repairs to the car park and terracing, fixing picnic benches, installing facia boards, patching terracing areas and refreshing safety markings on steps. These improvements will help keep the facilities safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone who uses them.

Aspull RUFC were full of praise for the support they received:

"I cannot thank Tilbury Douglas enough for their help and assistance; it is appreciated by all at Aspull. It really is great to see a local company put something back into the community for the social benefit of all who use our facilities."

We absolutely love this video to launch the new kit for Wigan Athletic. Filmed at Lancashire Mining Museum in Astley which is rich in history of our mining heritage.

Dee had the pleasure of meeting 94 year old Eric today who is very much still an active volunteer at the mining museum. What an amazing story he had to tell about his 14 year career starting in 1946 where he worked his way up to his favourite position as a collier. Always looking for volunteers in various fun and interesting roles. 💜⭐

A fantastic morning visiting some of our borough’s beautiful community spaces, including Standish Busy Bees Community & Memorial Garden, Sunshine House Community Garden, and the Tranquility Garden at Chandler House.

🌸 North West In Bloom Judging is Underway! 🌸

This week marks the start of the North West In Bloom judging, and what a fantastic start it has been!

We’ve seen an amazing response from groups right across the borough, with judges appearing genuinely impressed by the beautiful spaces, vibrant displays, and community projects they have visited so far. These wonderful achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and pride shown by our local VCFSE organisations, volunteers, and community groups.

From colourful planting schemes to thriving community gardens, Day 1 showcased just how much passion and effort goes into making our neighbourhoods greener, brighter, and more welcoming places for everyone.

A huge thank you to everyone involved. Your commitment is making a real difference and helping our borough bloom!
