Earlier this week we met with Controlled Solutions Group Ltd who provide the security for some major venues such as Old Trafford and Leigh Sports Village. CSG are looking at how they recruit more inclusively and from local talent and we are looking at how we can support individuals to access these opportunities. 🤞

We were also lucky enough to attend the Neurodiversity in the Workplace Conference at Autotrader where we heard from individuals with lived experience and Dr Tony Lloyd an expert ADHD Doctor about "Turning good intentions into real impact".

What a great morning we've had with Argyle - Civil Engineering, Surfacing & Construction; exploring careers in surfacing and highway repairs for our clients.

Its great to see a business really delivering on their social value commitments.

JJH Building Contractors Ltd have been working alongside the Supporting Skills and futures Team and have just taken on Byron.

With dedicated personalised support from Hannah, his Employment Coach, he completed a 12 week work experience placement in their onsite garage alongside fleet manager and mechanic, Warrick.

As he has grown confidence and knowledge over that time and as Hannah's support was reduced, JJH Building Contractors Ltd decided to offer Byron a paid position as Vehicle Maintenance Assistant 1 day a week.

To all our Preparing for Adulthood members getting GCSE results today we're so proud of you all, regardless of your results you've all worked hard and are ready for the next chapter whatever that may be.

Our Life Coaches will be available to celebrate with you and support every step of the way.

Each month, the Preparing for Adulthood Life Coach team will be holding parent/carer drop ins at Family Hubs across Wigan & Leigh. The drop in is an informal space for all parents/carers of young people with a disability or neurodiversity who are looking for advice and guidance around Preparing for Adulthood.

Our next drop in is:

📅 Tuesday 7th July
🕑 10:00 - 12:00
📍Family Hub at The Meadows, Ridyard St, Wigan WN5 9RQ

❌Can't make this session?
✅There will be one drop in every month and each drop in will be held at a different Family Hub in Wigan and Leigh so that you can attend without travelling far.

⌛Busy in the day?
✅Half of the drop ins will be held in the evening for parents/carers who can't make our morning drop ins.
