Year 3 enjoyed a visit to Wharton Park, where they participated in a fun and engaging map skills and orienteering session. Throughout the day, the children learned how to interpret map symbols, use a key and follow directions. They then put these skills into practice by completing an orienteering challenge around the park. The experience provided a valuable opportunity to develop geographical knowledge while strengthening teamwork, independence and confidence.

A morning filled with equal measure of energy and inspiration. Children enjoyed a wonderful fun-filled morning: completing their athletic challenge and hearing Anna’s truly inspirational story. Her determination to persevere, in the face of adversity, was so humbling. 🌟

Year 4 visited Wharton Park to take part in a Map Skills and Orienteering workshop.

The pupils developed their understanding of maps, symbols and directions before completing an orienteering course around the park.

Working in teams, they used communication and problem-solving skills to locate checkpoints and navigate successfully. The day provided an exciting opportunity to apply geography skills in a real-world environment while building confidence, teamwork and resilience.
