👩‍🏫 Little Historians with Big Questions! 📜

Yesterday, the Council Chamber was buzzing with energy as we welcomed the brilliant Year 6s from Wilton Primary School!

The students got a VIP look at the town’s historic charters, dove into Wilton's fascinating heritage and artefacts, met the Mayor and even managed to keep us on our toes with some fantastic questions!

The children even elected their own class councillors and a Mayor of Gandalf Class!

It was wonderful to see so much curiosity and enthusiasm for our local history! One of the children said it was "more interesting than the Houses of Parliament" (though the biscuits might have helped)!

🎄 Christmas Contractors Appointed 🎄

At last Monday's meeting of the full Town Council, Councillors appointed contractors for the town centre's Christmas lights for 2026.

We're delighted to be working with Blachere, a nationally recognised company, who will be supplying and installing a brand new scheme of Christmas lights across the town centre this year.

We'll also be working with locally-based Radiquip Events to help organise the Christmas Light switch on event. We'll be keeping a number of the traditional Wilton festive favourites, and working with our local groups and traders as we have done in previous years, but this year the event will be bigger and better than ever before!
