With the warm weather forcast for this weekend we have been out, alongside colleagues and partners, carrying out additional patrols across East Dorset's heathlands.

While enjoying the warm weather at one of our lovely local beauty spots we would as you to be and follow the following advice from Fire and Rescue:

- Barbecues and campfires are prohibited in many country parks, campsites, and open areas. Be sure to check the regulations for your location and adhere to them.
- Properly extinguish smoking materials and avoid discarding cigarette butts on the ground or from car windows—please take your litter home.
- Lastly, if you spot a fire🔥 in the countryside, report it immediately to the Fire & Rescue Service. Quick reporting can prevent a small fire from escalating into a significant wildfire incident. When contacting the Fire & Rescue Service:
🆘 Move to a safe location
📍 Identify the fire's location (What3Words can assist if you’re unsure)
📱 Dial 999
🚒 Meet the Fire & Rescue Service at the entrance.

🚔 If you notice any suspicious activity on our heaths or woodlands, report it anonymously to CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 🚔

Enjoy the weather and stay safe 😎

🚓 ☀️ With the lovely bank holiday weekend ahead, I've been out patrolling both Bournemouth 7's today and local areas to help keep everyone safe and support those enjoying the sunshine responsibly. Please look out for one another but most importantly, enjoy the festival!

This time last week, I issued 4 Section 35 dispersal notices in Corfe Mullen following reports of anti-social behaviour, so patrols will continue over the weekend to help prevent further issues and reassure the community.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather!

See you around 🙂

ABNORMAL LOAD | Dorset Police will be escorting an abnormal load for Allely’s Heavy Haulage on Saturday 23 May 2026 throughout the morning from approximately 8am to 2pm.

The load is a 302-tonne transformer for the Mannington substation and is required to replace the aging one at this location and forms part of the National Grid’s critical infrastructure.

The movement will start at Poole Port and will take in the Upton bypass, the A349, the A31 to Ashley Heath roundabout and then the Ringwood and Horton Roads.

It is anticipated that this load will cause a degree of disruption and the public’s assistance would be appreciated on any of the roads affected, by considerate parking and waiting, to alleviate any obstructions along the route.

The load movement will ensure reliable power supply for the West Moors, Verwood and St Leonards areas for the foreseeable future.

Do you know where your children are spending their time, and who they are with?

Officers carrying out further targeted patrols in Corfe Mullen last night, issued Section 35 dispersal notices to 4 young people engaged in antisocial behaviour at Corfe Mullen Library.

Neighbourhood Inspector Adam Gill said "While the majority of young people in our community behave responsibly, the type of antisocial behaviour we are currently dealing with from some is unacceptable.
Officers will continue to carry out targeted patrols in the area and will deal robustly with those involved in antisocial behaviour.
We would kindly ask parents and guardians to speak with their children and remind them about the importance of treating others with respect and behaving appropriately in the local community”

We would like to thank the community for their continued support and cooperation.

Please continue to report any antisocial behaviour incidents using 999 in an Emergency and 101 for non-emergency reports.

Patrols are continuing in the Corfe Mullen area following the issuing of 3 section 35 dispersal orders being issued last night. Two youths were also detained and taken home to their parents/guardians.

This action was taken following reports of anti-social behaviour, followed by individuals refusing to comply with requests to leave the area.

Officers will continue to carry out high-visibility patrols and will respond robustly to reports of ASB. We ask parents to please be aware of where their children are and how their behaviour may impact others within the community.

Please continue to report incidents to us. Always call 999 in an emergency.

See you around 🙂
