We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Manager to lead the day-to-day running of Wimborne Model Town. This is an exciting and unique role with variety and independence.

From busy event days to off-season improvements, no two days are the same!

🕒 4 days per week (incl. a weekend day in season)
💼 Retail/people management experience essential
🔧 A practical, can-do attitude is a must

A Beary Fun Weekend 🧸😍🏡

It might have been a hot one but the Bear Weekend here at the model town was a great success.

It was so lovely seeing everyone having fun, joining in and making the weekend so special. From tiny teddies to much-loved bears, it was wonderful to see so many special friends enjoying their day out around the Model Town.

Hot Weather Cool Down 🍦🍭

While the weather is glorious, it’s also very warm and James' Tearooms at Wimborne Model Town has got just what you need to cool down while enjoying the shade of the model town gardens this bank holiday!

Choose from tasty Purbeck Icecream in several favourite flavours, a yummy selection of lollies or indulge in a very delicious icecream sundae or even a fruity smoothie. Just what you need ☀️

The model town tearoom is open from 9am daily until 4pm and has its own separate entrance 😊

We've got cuddly fun, bear themed arts & crafts, storytelling, a delightful quiz and our tearoom may just have a bear themed treat or two. We'll also have Mr Pop's Balloons and facepainting with Dorset Event Service’s . All bears welcome!

Train Enthusiasts 🚂🏡🛤️

We have a fantastic selection of 00 gauge model trains now available for sale at the model town. All in excellent condition and are reasonably priced, they will be loved by collectors.

We have our own 00 gauge model railway diorama and these models are now surplus to requirement. We'd really love to see them now go to a good home.

You can find them in our shop and tearoom area 🚂🛤️

Wimborne's Little Treasure 🏡 🤩

Set in our beautiful, manicured gardens, the miniature streets of Wimborne feature over 100 shops, banks and cafés. There is even a river system, two sets of public toilets and a ringing phone box. Other outdoor attractions include a Sensory Garden, the 1/00th Model of the Model Town and Wendy Street where little ones can be left to be entertained and have a wonderful time.

When you feel the need to have a rest, why not grab a cuppa with some delicious home made cake from our Tearoom before checking out some of our indoor exhibits and activities.

Here you can say hello to the Wareham Bears, marvel at Beryl Dade Dolls' House Collection or discover a what 1950's school and shop were like.

You can also be a Model Town Train Driver at our fantastic Model Railway layout. Featuring hot air balloons, a cricket pitch, town square and even a Milkshake Train line, it has it all. Thomas runs most days and a souvenir of him and his friends can be found in our Gift Shop which has a great range of gifts to remember your visit by.

And if all of that isn't enough to entertain you, afterwards you can enjoy a game of Crazy Golf (small fee applies) or just sit back and watch the world go by✨

🛴 What A Fantastic Local Charity 🤩

Today we had the pleasure of presenting the funds donated last year by visitors in our Holloway Fountain to local Wimborne Charity the StreetLight Centre.

Brian Holloway, whose parents Douglas & Beryl kindly gave the Holloway Fountain to the model town, presented the cheque to regular Streetlight riders, Daniel & Jared along with Sarah Hobson, Trustee at the Centre.

Brian took time to show Daniel & Jared around the model town, and share some of his personal history attached to Wimborne's Little Treasure. It was a brilliant moment for generations to come together.

This year we will again be donating funds from the Holloway Fountain to StreetLight Centre, who provide an excellent indoor skate park for local children & youths as well as a soft play area and cafe 🤩
