The law of unintended consequences! As part of a habitat restoration project to help the endangered hazel dormouse, we've been improving hedgerows across the estate and in January installed 75 nestboxes for dormice in woodlands.

But 11 of those nestboxes have been appropriated this spring by blue t**s. We're not objecting 🥰

We've had our claws out at Middle School! The astonishing Visakhapatnam cabinet (on display at Kingston Lacy from 1 June) is inspiring Year 7 students here in .

Kingston Lacy’s curator, Elena Greer, was joined by Poonam Paranjpe (educator, community leader and one of the co-founders of BPC Indian Community) at a recent session exploring culture and traditions, contributing to a forthcoming art project by students.

Part of the year-long conservation of the Visakhapatnam cabinet was the replacement of a missing claw on one of the feet. Find out how the latest conservation techniques came into play at the exhibition starting 1 June https://bit.ly/4tTQpN1

With thanks to Cranborne Middle School and Georgie Lang-Jones for organising.
