🐴 The Saucepan Ponies are coming to Leigh Park!

Join Emerald Ant tomorrow, Tuesday 11 August, for a FREE creative workshop exploring what ‘home’ means to us through making, music and imagination.

Come along and help bring the Saucepan Ponies to life – make hobby horses and hats, create songs and get ready for a very special Pony Parade through Leigh Park later this month.

Can’t make it tomorrow? There’s another chance to join the fun on Thursday 20 August, with sessions at the same times.

And it all leads up to the Saucepan Ponies Parade on Thursday 27 August, 6–8pm – when everyone is invited to dress up, join in and follow the ponies on a wonderful wander through the streets of Leigh Park. 🐴🎶

The Saucepan Ponies are created and delivered by Emerald Ant as part of HOME, Wimborne Town of Culture 2026’s landmark creative project exploring what home means to us.

We need your help to avoid a hosepipe ban. Demand for water is currently more than 30% higher than normal due to the ongoing hot, dry weather.

While we're fixing more leaks and there is still enough water available, it's being used faster than our underground reservoirs can be replenished.

It's been 50 years since water restrictions were last needed in our region, and we're doing everything we can to keep it that way.

By making small changes where possible, we can help keep water flowing for each other and the environment as well as reduce the likelihood of more formal restrictions as the dry conditions continue.

🐾 A Heartfelt Thank You! 🐾

Wimborne Minster Town Council would like to express our sincere appreciation to the wonderful lady owner of Syd the Dachshund for going above and beyond at Redcotts Recreation Ground.

Not only did she clean up after Syd, but they also kindly picked up dog waste that had been left behind by other owners. This simple act of kindness helps keep our beautiful park clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

Small gestures like this make a big difference and show real pride in our community. Thank you for setting such a fantastic example – your thoughtfulness has not gone unnoticed.

Let's all do our bit to keep Redcotts Recreation Ground a place we can all be proud of. 🐶💚
