The Tewkesbury Branch of Reform UK Gloucestershire has been active since October 2024 - in that time we have grown from 200 to over 600 members, and we are still growing.

What a brilliant morning campaigning in the sunshine! Our fantastic team of local volunteers was out delivering leaflets, chatting to residents and showing that real change is coming to Cheltenham ahead of the local elections.

Reform UK is standing up for residents with a bold, costed alternative to the Liberal Democrats' unfocused and incoherent budget. We're delivering £5 million in savings, protecting essential services, and tackling real issues like flooding, SEND transport costs, and unfair charges on carers.
Here's what Reform is fighting for:
Public Health Funding Fix: Stopping the misuse of £2m ring-fenced funds—redirecting to priorities like childhood obesity and rehab, not highways.

Flood Action Now: £100k for countywide dredging using 2019 maps + £250k uplift for emergency gully clearing to prevent storms from flooding our roads.

SEND Transport Savings: £50k business case for a minibus pilot—paving the way for multi-million annual reductions while improving services for families.

Boost Local Producers: Redirecting £30k to the 'Made in Gloucestershire' program to support our food and drink businesses, not more bureaucracy.

🚨 LIB DEM BUDGET EXPOSED — REFORM UK PUTS FORWARD THE ONLY SERIOUS ALTERNATIVE 🚨
Gloucestershire deserves better than a budget built on misallocated funds, failed priorities, and punishing the very people who hold our county together.

While the Liberal Democrats push ahead with plans to raid ring‑fenced Public Health money for 20mph zones, underfund flooding defences, ignore soaring SEND transport costs, and even charge carers to park, Reform UK is taking a stand.

Road traffic incidents only make up a small proportion of total A&E attendances (typically low single-digit percentages)

Today we’ve put forward a fully costed, practical, common‑sense amendment package that delivers:
✅ £5 million in safeguarded funding
✅ A path to multi‑million SEND transport savings
✅ Real flood prevention — dredging, emergency gully clearance and drainage upgrades
✅ Support for local food & drink businesses
✅ Scrapping the Carers’ Parking Charge — because taxing compassion is shameful
✅ Stronger roads & infrastructure
✅ A new Financial Risk Reserve to finally tackle the SEND deficit responsibly

The Lib Dem budget is glossy on the surface, reckless underneath.
Ours is focused and delivers for residents.

🌟 What an INCREDIBLE night in Gloucestershire! 🌟
Last night over 130 fantastic Reform UK supporters packed the Clavell & Hind Tap Room for our Christmas Quiz Night, and wow… did we have fun! 🎄🎅
A massive THANK YOU to our brilliant special guest Alex Phillips who was absolutely fantastic as our quiz master – witty, warm, and kept everyone on their toes all evening! You were a total star, Alex! ⭐
The room was buzzing, the questions were tough (but fair!), the raffle was epic, and the festive atmosphere was second to none. From the Christmas lights to the Union Jacks, it felt like one massive Reform family celebration.
Huge thanks to everyone who came, brought guests, donated raffle prizes, and helped make it such a memorable evening. You are the heart and soul of this movement!
Here’s to many more nights like this as we head into 2025 stronger than ever! 💪🇬🇧

✅ Keeping Our Children Warm at Bishop’s Cleeve Primary School
As winter approaches and temperatures drop, ensuring our children can learn in a warm and safe environment is absolutely vital.
Cllr Leigh Challis, Shadow Cabinet Member for Education & Skills, has been working hard alongside Reform UK to address concerns about classroom heating at Bishop’s Cleeve Primary School. Here’s what we’ve done so far:

🔹 Raised the Issue Directly – Leigh contacted the school leadership to highlight parents’ concerns about classroom temperatures and the reliability of the current heating system.
🔹 Challenged the Process – We’ve asked why actual temperature readings aren’t being taken and why repairs to the existing system haven’t been carried out while waiting for a full upgrade.
🔹 Offered Practical Support – Reform UK has pledged to personally fund digital thermometers for every classroom and common area, so parents can see the real temperatures their children are learning in.
🔹 Secured a Meeting – Leigh and Cllr Chris Mayo will meet with the school’s CEO on 3rd December to push for immediate solutions and ensure children stay warm during the next cold snap.
We believe parents deserve transparency and action—not just promises for summer 2026. Reform UK will continue to fight for practical steps that protect our children’s wellbeing this winter.

A brilliant day in Tewkesbury yesterday and a great result for the Reform UK Day of Action. The Tewkesbury Branch signed up over 30 new members in a single day.

The public is tired of consensus politics and is actively joining the movement that offers a real alternative.
