Join us on 24 September at Colden Common Community Centre to discuss volunteering, funding opportunities, and best practice for community buildings.

WUCA, established in 2023, continues to progress its support for Ukrainians in the Wi******er district.

WUCA volunteers are committed to delivering a range of community events, designed to support individuals to stay connected. From community drop-ins, book club evenings and recent celebrations to mark Ukraine’s 35th day of independence, there are lots of opportunities to get involved.

Funding Opportunity for Charities!

The Morrisons Foundation has launched its Connecting Communities Fund, offering grants of up to £20,000 for capital projects that improve shared community spaces and infrastructure.

Funding is available to support capital projects that:
📌Breathe new life into local spaces: Upgrade and revitalise buildings and outdoor areas.

📌Bring people together: Reduce social isolation and foster a strong sense of belonging.

📌Secure the future: Ensure vital local services remain open and accessible for generations to come.

Funding available! 👇

The Screwfix Foundation is open for applications from charities and registered not-for-profit organisations (including specialist schools and Parent Teacher Associations / Friends of groups if they hold a registered charity number) for projects that will fix, repair, maintain, and improve the properties and community facilities of those in need due to financial hardship, sickness, disability, distress, or other disadvantage throughout the UK.

Grants in the region of £5,000 are available for a variety of projects, such as:
• Improved energy-efficient lighting & heating
• Installation of new kitchen, bathroom etc.
• Installation of a sensory room
• General painting & decorating
• Improving the safety and security of a building
