Coming soon! The 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, Read to the Beat, starts in Hampshire Libraries on Saturday 11 July. 📚🎶

This year The Reading Agency is partnering with Universal Music Group UK. This inspiring collaboration will harness the universal appeal of music to tackle the decline in children’s reading enjoyment and inspire a new generation of readers in the UK.

You can sign up in our libraries, or online through the Kids' Zone on our website, from Saturday 11 July.

We’re taking information about special needs support out on the road this spring, with a brand-new series of ‘Discovery Days’.

Starting this week, these events will be an opportunity for families to explore Hampshire’s Local Offer – which sets out the services and support available for local children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You’ll be able to speak directly with SEND professionals, access general support and advice, take part in workshops, share feedback, and hear about new or upcoming support offers.

Visit the Connect to Support website – via the link in the comments – to find an event near you.
