The truth is here for all to see.

The truth when spoken is often termed to be a falsehood, by those that have been hoodwinked.

Although I am no longer a Director of Memorial At Peninsula Limited; I do still take an interest in the Regiment.

It saddens me that firstly, the Regiment was disbanded as a live Regiment, and amalgamated.

It is almost as if those die hard Traditionalists were paid Lip service.

“Lip service?” I hear you say.
“What do you mean ?”

Lip service in that some, sat with the Devils’ advocate at a higher place in the Chain of command, and discussed the way forward for the illustrious Regiment; The Royal Green Jackets.

They decided the fate of the Regiment, they had to make cut backs, all unnecessary ( to my mind) given the current status quo, a view shared by many Veterans.

So the way forward disband ( get rid of) the Regiment; form another by way of introducing, The Rifles.

Yes the Rifles made up of other Regiments who had fell at the Axe of those deciding their fate too.

The Rifles are a good Regiment, no one can deny that.

Its’ history made by great traditions and Men before them.

This is the Lip service, the appeasing statement;
“Once a Rifleman, always a Rifleman,”
I have used it myself, saying that it, the Regiment, has gone full Circle

This is where the evidence of the truth starts, the cut backs the fine weeding;
First the Regiment, after losing its Foot holding in Wi******er,(Peninsula Barracks)- moving to a new Barracks.

Then this home was to be shared a further loss of identity.

There is a pattern emerging, up and down the Country; Barracks being closed, luxury Homes built on them- sold on the premise; “you are buying a bit of history.”

Whose history, what is history, who are the history makers?

The Pattern is Money.
The lie is Money
The loss of identity - Money.
Hmmmm.

Then we have the mis-representation of the History, the Museum.
“What ? “
“Here we go!”
Yes, I hear you saying it, as I have heard the Whispers before and just observed, taken the false accusations, the name calling.

Funny I have always come back with the truth and proof in the Pudding, as I did many a time.

Too many occasions to talk about, too many accusation’s and loss of Friends ( who should have known better), those who truly know me, know if I have done wrong, I will hold my Hands up.

Not steal the Regimentsl Silver and come back glorified, because let’s face it this is what has happened now, with the loss of the Museums’ identity.

First the Barracks.
Then the changing of the Regimental Cap badge design, to evade the Licence fee, or make Money.
Yes I went there.

Ask yourself, the intelligent among you, the “ Thinking Rifleman,”
how can a Licence fee be charged by the Mod for a non active disbanded Regiment?

Money, Money, Money - a very well known ABBA song, as is Waterloo .
It’s a rich Man’s world.

Not forgetting the Battle honours and Waterloo, the Diorama also.

On the subject of the Diorama, will that still remain an asset of the Regimental Association ? now that, the Regiment has in reality lost its’ Museum.

Those that have made Money through the changes of the Cap Badge, have been hoodwinked, entered into a Dance with the Devil, been paid Lip service, for what ends ?

The end of a Regiment, the stamping out of history, whose history, the history makers. Who were the history makers?
The Men and Boys who were proud to serve; had followed in the Footsteps of those as far back as the Napoleonic times, to tred forward to show with pride a standing.

That standing has been taken.
First the Barracks.
Then the Cap Badge.

Then the gradual infiltration through disbandment; then amalgamations towards coming through the side Door, to gain Keys to the Front door - the Museum.

The Tower of history has fallen, to be re- written by the newest Regiment.

Who will head up the new Website, who will Curate the Museum?

What becomes of the Regimental website; The Royal Green Jacket Association, in relation to Friends of the Museum and input within the Museum?

Have the shekels, the Artifacts within the Museum, the Historical assets been sold to the new Key holders of the Museum, The Rifles?

I remember on the unveiling of the Chairs, a retired Officer, an ex Curator of the Museum saying to me,
“ Don’t forget the Rifles?”

At that time we were unveiling two Chairs, or proposing to unveil two Chairs. We ( Memorial at Peninsula Ltd) yes a nod back to the past.
I was a Director at the time, of a Limited company, limited so we held control; ( a safety initiative ) as everything done by the company has been, safety in mind of preserving the history and Foot print of the Regiment and its’ pride.

So I digress the unveiling of the Chairs, had been problematic, people had messed up the designs, ( at the time ) messed with the history and the design of the Cap badge, the rot had set in, the rumours started, this was the Smoke and Mirrors offensive towards undoing the good.

The good of the Regiment, the defacing, the undoing.

To be told you will never get anything in the development, nothing that will stand to recognise those that served.

Well, Well, Well, we carried on persevered the donations dried up, ( the rumours and misrepresentation to include that of wrongful reports in the Newspapers) did not help; although the truth was there to be seen and the Receipts were there to tell the tale too, and not forgetting the Reports from Companies House too.

The next was,” the only Memorial must be at the National Arboretum.”

No, No and No it must be at our Ancestral home, which was and always will be Wi******er, to be precise Peninsula Barracks without an ( R ), when you know you know.

So we persevered and two sets of Chairs later, was they were funded and installed .
Funded ?
Yes funded, by part donation and mainly Sponsorship and by hard graft from two Volunteers at the time.

The Regimental Association was split, in that some were adding Fuel to the rumours, some were believing the rumours and some were in support of the Chairs, they could see the Vision.

The latter who could see the vision, knew the aim and objective.

To maintain a Foot holding, in the very place of the Ancestral home.

Let’s face it we all knew deep down, those that marched out of Peninsula Barracks with the then, Col. Carron Snagg that this was the beginning of the end, for The Royal Green Jackets’; the Bandsmen had lost the Sounding of the retreat, no more Green Jacket week.

The first at the New Barracks had lost its’ atmosphere, its’ acoustics.

In fact it had lost its traditions and its Foot holding, at the turning of a Key, this was Alien to those that served.

Many an Old Guy had seen this before, The Ox and Bucks, The Green Jackets’, The Brigade Veterans’;all seen it before , the writing was on the Wall, all clinging to something, towards the amalagamated of times past, the new Regiment, Royal assent.

Then came the Axe, prior to that was the sharing of the Barracks with Logistic Corps.
Then the Axe fell.
Thank God for the Chairs.

The Chairs are the Foot holding within the Barracks, the Ancestral home at Peninsula Barracks.

I recall many asking why have you Copy written the Badge?

You can’t do that, you need a Licence, you don’t own my Badge?

The truth, look at what is being sold?

You are being sold down the River.

“But you don’t own the trademark, the MOD does, they won’t wear that, you will be in trouble .”

Truth
The copyright is of a Design, the design drawn by MAP.
The copyright owned by MAP,
not by the MOD; theirs had run out, ironically as the same time that the Regiment had been disbanded.

Ironically, at the same time that one of the Chairs was unveiled,at the Museum at the Ancestral Home in Wi******er.

So the design, that of the Cap Badge worn was copy written ( for protection and preservation of history and honour of the history makers; each and everyone who has served )the copy right owned by MAP.

Then came the Trademarks, yes plural to protect the trading and copyright of the Badges.

The trademark not owned by the MOD, yes opposed by them in a Court setting, however granted on the designs held by MAP and subsequently granted on the Cap Badges held by MAP and registered on the Government Intellectual Property Register as trademarked to MAP ( Memorial At Peninsula ) Ltd.

The Trademark of the historical designs of the historical Cap Badges worn is owned by Memorial at Peninsula limited; not that of the Ministry of Defence or that of The Secretary of Defence.

No Licence can be issued by those that do not own it, for trading purposes to make Money.

Memorial At Peninsula Ltd, has always been truthful and its’ aim was and always has been protection and preservation.

Preserved the history of the Regiment ( the Chairs ).

Preserve ( the Cap badge).

Safety in securing a Foot holding in Wi******er, to be precise Peninsula Barracks ( the Ancestral Home).

Not about Money, two Directors raised the Money and funded the shortfall of the Chairs, kept the history alive with a website still going, ( the Museums’ isn’t in the same format anymore ).

Kept the Cap badge safe has the only original correct design, has not Licensed poor copies for Monetary gain.

Had stated this “ the longevity of the Regimental Museum as we know it, is about 5 - 10 yrs at a push,”

Rumours were put around, we were laughed at, shunned and hated, but as true Royal Green Jackets and in memory of being, carried on.
We carried truth.

Although we tried to have meetings and to no avail, carried on Insuring and up keeping and maintaining the Chairs - they are the truth and the lasting truth of what, was ironically and sadly history. Lives.

We knew and tried to inform you all.

John Paul Warren had told us, when we asked about the longevity of the Museum, because we wanted to secure the chairs as a lasting tribute, that the Museum had about 5-10 yrs Financial longevity, we told you all.

We were truth sayers .
So the loss of Peninsula Bks,
The loss of the Regiment,
The Cap badge design altered,
The loss of identity,
Sharing of new Barracks,
Loss of Reunion as we knew it
Now the Museum;

What next the Association - the final Axe ?.

Remember Ladies and Gentlemen Smoke and Mirrors, but the truth always outs———
It is here, no Lip service, but truth.

Enough is enough
I will not hold my Breath for the apologies, just please; those that believed rumours turned against us and fuelled rumours,
“ Enjoy The Humble Pie.”
I say all of this without Malice of intent but with truth on my side.
