πŸŽ‰ After 10 days away, The Band and Bugles of The Rifles has returned from Adventure Training in the Bavarian Alps.

Joined by musicians from The Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, Riflemen from the Bugle Platoon and a team of specialist instructors, 37 personnel spent a week mountain biking, hill walking, rock climbing and tackling Klettersteig routes – a first for everyone involved, leaving our instructor as the only person who actually knew what was going on!

πŸ”οΈ With temperatures pushing into the 30s, the Bavarian mountains provided a demanding environment that tested resilience, determination and teamwork. Whether on the rock face, the trails or the mountain tops, personnel pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones, supported one another and created memories that will last for years to come.

πŸ’ͺ A special thank you to our very own Cpl Russell May for organising the expedition, and to all of the instructors whose hard work made the week such a success.

Adventure Training is just one of the many opportunities available in Army music, developing confidence, resilience and teamwork far beyond the rehearsal room.

This June, The Band and Bugles of The Rifles travels north to support The Rifles, communities across Yorkshire and the Northeast. You don't see this every day!..

7 British Army Regional Bands have come together to form a massed band of 150 musicians during our collective training in sunny Cardiff this week.

As well as playing as a large ensemble, bands had the opportunity to rehearse with buglers from The Rifles, marching at 140 paces a minute. A career in music or want an evening out?.. then come to experience our Beat of the Nation tour, playing this week in Cardiff and Birmingham.

If you’d like to see Corporal Nuss performing soon, then you’re in luck as he’ll be performing twice on Friday 01 May! Firstly on a Sounding Retreat parade at Roald Dahl Plass at 1800, then at 1930 at BBC Hoddinott Hall, Millenium Centre, Cardiff. Tickets for both events are free, so we hope to see you
